Senior Product Engineer
As a Senior Designer you will be responsible for producing and reviewing detailed engineering drawings and 3D models of rotating and vibrating equipment. The role is required to work alongside the product design engineers to ensure the accurate delivery of drawings and documentation, which correctly captures design intent, manufacturability, and GD&T requirements. The role will assist to manage drafting resources, ensure adherence to industry standards, and provide technical expertise. The Senior Designer is expected to mentor junior team members, foster teamwork, and continuously improve processes to enhance efficiency and quality.

Your responsibilities

Design and Drafting:

Produce detailed engineering drawings and 3D models using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks
-
Develop and maintain accurate and up-to-date technical drawings and documentation
-
Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and client specifications
-

Project Management:

Manage and coordinate drafting activities within project timelines and budgets
-
Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other team members to ensure project success
-
Review and approve drawings and documentation produced by team members.

Problem-Solving:

Identify and resolve technical challenges and design issues
-
Propose innovative design solutions to optimize project outcomes
-
Conduct technical investigations and analysis as required

Mentorship:

Mentor and train team members, sharing knowledge and expertise

Provide guidance and support to team members to improve their skills and capabilities

Teamwork:

Foster a positive and collaborative work environment

Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team to achieve project goals

Quality Control:

Implement quality control procedures to ensure accuracy and consistency in drawings and documentation

Conduct thorough reviews of drawings and documentation to identify and correct errors.

Conduct reviews of equipment factory acceptance testing (FAT) results and provide technical recommendations where results do not meet required acceptance criteria.

Carry out change management requirements for engineering documents (ECN/ECR)

Continuous Improvement:

Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency and productivity

Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in drafting technology

What you bring
-
B.E – Mechanical Engineering is a mandatory requirement. Masters’ preferred.
-
Recognized mechanical drafting qualification with 10 - 15 years years of experience in a similar role.
-
Ability to analyse and support the resolution of complex engineering problems through the application of technical knowledge and experience.
-
Experience in product design, manufacture and testing of vibrating equipment is advantageous.

Proficient in the use of ACAD, SolidWorks, MS Office and PDM systems
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-
Team player with ability to foster and maintain positive working relationships.
