The Mission
In the Financial Market (FM) environment, building a platform integrating your own pricing and risk models is crucial to stay in control of your risk while keeping a competitive edge.
We currently have three openings in the following projects within the FM environment:
1. IPA SWAT
The IPA platform consisting of service-oriented components that will enable the real-time and portfolio calculations of financial risk metrics and simulations (e.g. VaR, Expected Shortfall, Bilateral Margining) which are driven by new ECB regulation as well as advanced Risk analysis on the derivative product portfolio of Financial Markets (interest rates, credits, foreign exchange). This will be a key platform in the IT landscape for our global dealing rooms, with over 10 scrum teams cooperating towards one Financial Markets IT landscape. IPA SWAT squad’s purpose is twofold. First is to work across all IPA components facilitating teams when they don’t have enough capacity or when they need to deliver a highly technical feature, and second SWAT squad should help in doing POCs to validate certain use cases or new technologies and to help kickstart new projects by delivering the MVP and help in staffing the squad.
2. IPA Trade Store
The Trade Store project is one of the essential applications within the IPA domain. It serves the strategic Area purpose of pricing trade portfolios in a uniform way, regardless of data formats or additional complexities of various deal capture systems within the bank (e.g. Murex, Summit). Aside from secondary purposes, the Trade Store application is responsible of:
- Capturing all trade feeds within the bank via various integration methods, and handling their lifecycle;
- Modelling the data in a uniform format based on each specific product using Google protocol buffers and compressed serialization;
- Serving the data via high throughput APIs based on Google RPCs and distributed in memory caching systems for EOD risk pricing purposes;
- Streaming the data for pre-deal pricing purposes;
3. Active Pivot (AP) - Risk Reporting
Active Pivot is an important part of Competitive Pricing area allowing risk managers to analyze trade data coming from various deal capture systems within the bank (e.g. Summit, Murex). We deliver VaR (Value at Risk), PnL (Profit and Loss) and Risk metrics that enable our stakeholders to do daily market & credit risk analysis for decision making on portfolio risks and limit monitoring.
In addition, we play a key role for internal and regulatory reporting by providing a sign off process to guarantee correctness of figures and by allowing slice and dice on aggregated data coming from all input systems, regardless of data format.
As we have broadened our scope recently, new applications were onboarded to support additional business requirements like facilitating the explanation of VaR figures or applying the regulatory aggregation and calculation rules to provide Market Risk Managers with the capital requirements.
