Nielsen is seeking an organized, detail oriented, team player, to join the Engineering team in the role of Software Engineer. Nielsen’s Audience Measurement Engineering platforms support the measurement of television viewing in more than 30 countries around the world. Ideal candidates will have exceptional skills in programming, testing, debugging and problem solving as well as effective communication and writing skills.


Responsibilities:


As part of Nielsen Engineering team you will start by taking over the test automation suite

(JAVA/TestNG) by improving the performance, enhancing the integration to CI/CD and

adding new features to it. Part of the job is also automating test cases.

Your job responsibilities will also include contributing to Nielsen metering technology by

writing application software for TAM equipment (C/C++).

Required Skills:

  • Development experience with Java/J2EE on Windows
  • Experienced in using/building RESTful APIs.
  • Work with web technology including Docker, Python, JavaScript
  • Experience in writing unit/integration tests including test automation.
  • Strong testing and debugging abilities, functional, analytical and technical abilities, ability to find bugs, attention to detail, troubleshooting
  • Resourceful, self-starter, and a team-player
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer or Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent
  • 5+ years relevant work experience
  • Ability to communicate in English (conduct written and spoken daily conversations with English speakers from 30+ countries around the world)

Additional Useful Skills

  • Development experience with C/C++ for Linux
  • Test experience with TestNG or JUnit
  • SQL Programming (PostgreSQL)
  • Development experience with Microsoft Visual C++ or .NET/C#
  • SQL Programming (Microsoft SQL Sever)
  • Work with web technology including AWS
