Job Description

For our Lafayette office we are looking for a Senior IT Systems Administrator. The Senior IT Systems Administrator will be responsible for being the public face of Operational Technology (OT) Services. Provide end users with IT support to facilitate Fugro’s vessels, field operations, remote operations and processing of data collected during those operations. Actively promote standards for IT infrastructure and services and best practices used for support. Have a good understanding of the needs of the Fugro business stakeholders and the challenges faced by end users in the field. Proactively identify areas of improvement regarding the support process and tools and proposes solutions to management.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead by example and place Quality, Health & Safety, Security, and the protection of the Environment as core values while never intentionally placing employees, our processes, customers, or the communities in which we live and work at risk.
• Act as 2nd line escalation point for Support Assistants and Administrators.
• Monitor systems and handle alerts according to procedures. You also monitor the status of open tickets and provide weekly reporting on outstanding tickets to the responsible parties.
• Implement standard solutions and complete standard tasks according to the instructions.
• Complete periodic system maintenance tasks and report on these while including system patching, backup and standard restore tasks.
• Coordinate purchasing and logistics in support of hardware maintenance and in response to monitoring alerts.
• Coordinate the roll out of systems updates and of new standards when required.
• Support cyber security initiatives, directly respond to cyber issues reported by field personnel and escalate where necessary in accordance with defined procedures.
• Coordinate support activities with external vendors where necessary.
• Create IT infrastructure and systems support related work instruction documentation when required.

Job Requirements

• Authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions.
• Possess valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record.
• Possess a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Have 5 years of experience or more a with good understanding of IT service management process (ITIL) and ITSM tools. Have broad technical knowledge on both desktop and server infrastructure and Enterprise applications. Technical knowledge across multiple platforms (Windows, Linux).
• Have the ability to observe, think critically and solve problems using appropriate data analysis, interpretation and reasoning skills.
• Communicate well and can collaborate across functions.
• Able to generate written instructions and support documentation.
