THE ROLE AND THE TEAM

In the Fashion-Tech Proposition team, we fullfil customer’s everyday fashion needs through engaging customer experience and deep customer understanding; one where the products in the parcel live up to the customer's expectations. We make this happen through customization and innovation to serve the unique needs of Zalando customers shopping core fashion categories. We build customer facing features from beginning to end across the home screen, catalog and the product detail page to help over 48+ million customers across 23 markets find products they love, and buy products they keep, ultimately helping customers to make lasting purchases.

As a Senior iOS Engineer in the Fashion Tech Proposition team, you will help us deliver our purpose on the app. You will be at the forefront of how we define, own & build engaging user experiences for millions of our customers. WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING) 

• You will be part of an agile cross functional team that builds solutions for Zalando’s Fashion Store applications (Android and iOS) as well as the website.

• Together with the team you will build solutions for customers to socially engage with others: share fashion discoveries and get inspired by others.

• Communicate with various stakeholders to understand the business context, and translate the requirements into technical designs

• Act like an owner by taking up a challenge, work towards reducing ambiguity, and break the work down into manageable tasks for the team.

• Lean on your iOS experience and skill set, develop robust, performant and maintainable code.

• Share and develop your expertise with your team to deliver the best user experience to our customers

WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

• You are an experienced iOS developer (+5 years) who is eager to work with new technologies while trying to challenge yourself and deliver high-quality code.

• You have a deep understanding of Swift Programming Language, iOS Frameworks & APIs. Knowledge of SwiftUI is a plus.

• You are familiar with functional programming concepts and Apple Design principles and have made the applications resilient and reliable.

• You have a strong sense of ownership for your work – from understanding the requirements, to writing well structured, readable, and maintainable code that’s covered by unit tests.

• You have hands-on experience with performance tuning (instrumentation & observability).

• You have several years of experience working in high performance teams and can independently drive technical discussions and facilitate complex decision making processes.

• You communicate effectively in english and are comfortable collaborating with different product, design and engineering teams.
