Position Purpose:
Responsible for documenting the technical requirements for the most complex of the area's projects and then putting together an overall design (within an architectural framework) to meet those requirements. Articulates technology and infrastructure standards to both business and technical users. Provides cost models and enforces architectural standards while meeting customer's requirements. Reviews high-level estimates to determine infrastructure impact and provide an estimation of hours required.
What You'll Do:

Provides infrastructure design representation during the request for proposal process. Responsible for addressing and responding to the complex functional elements of requests for proposals/information. Determines the setting of technical direction based on interaction with the architectural staff.

Communicates designed solutions to infrastructure deployment areas.

Designs infrastructure solutions within set architectural framework, ensuring cost effectiveness and enforcement of architectural standards.

Captures and documents business/technical requirements by communicating with customers.

Completes infrastructure estimating and consultation. Reviews high-level estimates to determine infrastructure impact and to provide estimation of hours required for the assignment.

Performs technical oversight/review and approval of less experienced team members and their work.
To Qualify for This Position, You'll Need:
Required Education:

Bachelor's degree in a job-related field
Degree Equivalency:
-
4 years job-related work experience OR
-
Associate's degree and 2 years job-related work experience
Required Work Experience:
-
8 years of technical experience or other job-related IT experience with at least six years infrastructure experience.
Required Skills and Abilities:
-
Advanced knowledge of IP communications and general networking.

Advanced knowledge of server systems including Microsoft, Linux, and/or AIX.

In-depth knowledge of the area’s network/server technology.

Comprehensive understanding of corporate strategy.
-
Able to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences, including the ability to express complex technical and business concepts to all management levels, peers, and the business units.
Required Software and Tools: Microsoft Office and Visio.
We Prefer that You Have:

Previous experience with leading ICT RFx efforts.

Heavy experience in gathering infrastructure cost and labor information.

Preferred Work Experience: 10 years-of server, network infrastructure experience. Experience with mainframe and applications, telephony, and design/architecture in an enterprise environment.

Proficiency with DB (SQL, DB2, Oracle) and web server (IIS, SunOne, Websphere).
