Genesis Therapeutics is building a world-class computational team to solve problems in drug discovery through machine learning, biophysical simulation, and computational chemistry. We are looking for a senior infrastructure engineer that is excited to help develop new medicines and play a critical role in building out our AI platform.
You Will
- Work on our infrastructure team to maintain and grow our multi-cloud compute infrastructure that supports our ML model training, computational chemistry research, and ongoing drug discovery efforts
- Build out our configuration and procedures for monitoring, resource allocation, and deployment automation, as we continue to grow our autoscaling compute clusters to handle larger workloads
- Work on improvements to our internal job scheduling system to increase our execution throughput, reliability, and compute utilization across heterogeneous pipelines
You Are
- 5+ years of experience building and maintaining cloud infrastructure at scale, e.g. within AWS or GCP
- Proficient with Python, Bash, Terraform, and Kubernetes
- Ideally, experience building and maintaining compute clusters running distributed ML training jobs with 1,000+ GPUs
- Nice to have: hands-on experience with physical hardware + datacenter management

We deploy our technology to accelerate a pipeline of several internal drug programs.
Furthermore, Genesis has announced two significant, multi-target collaborations with Genentech and with Eli Lilly, the latter of which entailed a $20M upfront payment with a $670M total deal size.
Now we are scaling the team and technology to support many more programs in parallel as well as increasingly difficult protein targets.
We currently have a team (genesistherapeutics.ai/company.html#team) of about 35 people, split 50/50 between our ML / software team and our biochem team of veteran drug hunters in our own wetlab space. Our ML + software engineers are top-notch -- many graduates from MIT, UC Berkeley, Stanford. Previously worked at OpenAI, Google, Facebook, MemSQL, Jane Street, Dropbox, etc.
We're recruiting pure ML research scientists + software engineers (no bio or chem experience expected) to further our core AI platform as well as scale our drug pipeline.
Likewise, we have several openings in chemistry and biology to join our team of biotech + pharma veterans who are deploying the Genesis ML platform to discover novel drug candidates.
