Senior Information Security Engineer

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Sr Information Security Engineer to lead day-to-day security operations, serve as a first responder to security alerts, and drive process improvement across key information security domains. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, familiarity with cybersecurity tooling, a solid understanding of security fundamentals, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively across multiple cybersecurity functions. 

How You'll Help Take Us There

Security Operations & Incident Support: 

• Manage and respond to operational security tickets (e.g., firewall requests, access escalations, phishing reports, control validation, Tier 1 security reviews, certificate requests, vulnerability remediation coordination, etc.). 
  Monitor, triage, and conduct initial investigation on security alerts generated within the SOC. 
• Coordinate with Tier 2 SOC and Incident Response teams on escalated events and contribute to incident documentation and post-mortems. 
• Support the planning and execution of tabletop exercises to test and improve incident response capabilities. 
• Be part of a 24/7/365 SOC, that includes a rotating on-call schedule for overnights/weekends. 

Security Service Desk Management: 

• Manage the Information Security service desk including triaging and responding to inbound security tickets. 
• Escalate complex issues to appropriate subject matter experts and track progress through closure. 
• Maintain documentation, SOPs, and operational workflows for consistent execution. 
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve workflows, ticket routing, and knowledgebases. 

Operational Efficiency & Program Support: 

• Support the execution of recurring security programs including access recertifications, control assessments, and other compliance-driven activities. 
• Partner with stakeholders across the Information Security department to identify operational bottlenecks, recommend improvements, and drive process automation. 
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather evidence and fulfill audit or control-related requests. 
• Assist in measuring and reporting on operational metrics to inform prioritization and performance tracking. 

What We’re Looking for  

• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity operations, SOC, or a related security role. 
• Strong familiarity with SIEM platforms, endpoint protection tools, and ticketing systems. 
• Experience with responding to security incidents, including initial triage, investigation and mitigation of threats such as malware infections, phishing attacks, and network intrusions. 
• Familiarity with cloud security concepts and environments (e.g. AWS, Azure).
• Basic scripting and automation skills (e.g. Python, PowerShell, or workflow tools).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work cross-functionally with Security, IT, and Compliance teams. 
• Someone with the desire to learn and grow with the team and the organization.

For job positions in NYC, NY, and other locations where required, the estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $150,000 USD to $205,000 USD. Actual salary may vary depending on job-related factors, which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. You may also be eligible for annual cash incentives, equity, and other benefit programs.
