Job Description:

iParametrics has partnered with a leading engineering, procurement, and construction company known for its comprehensive nuclear solutions provided to the Department of Energy, the National Nuclear Security Administration, and commercial nuclear power producers. We are seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Designer who is passionate about contributing to the development and refinement of control systems and instrumentation. In this pivotal role, you will engage in high-stakes projects that demand your expertise in designing systems capable of operating under rigorous safety standards and extreme conditions.
Responsibilities:
  • Design and Drafting: Leverage advanced CAD tools to design and draft intricate instrumentation and control systems.
  • 3D Modeling and Documentation: Create detailed 3D models and maintain accurate design documentation with minimal supervision.
  • Collaboration and Strategy: Work closely with engineering teams to refine system designs and develop control strategies accurately represented in project documentation.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a minimum of an associate’s degree in a field related to the position and a minimum of 10 years progressive experience in drafting related to Engineering and Construction (nuclear preferred).
  • Background and experience must include drafting/designer experience instrumentation and control systems within the electrical field. This may include cable trays, conduits, electrical panels, instrument locations, safety systems and alarm systems.
  • Must be proficient with CAD and have demonstrated experience in originating/producing drawings with minimum supervision.
  • 3D modeling experience is required.
  • Department of Energy requires all people working on the project to be a US Citizen.

Preferred Qualifications:Field and Project Experience:

  • Experience with U.S. Department of Energy or other U.S. Federal Government agencies.
  • Experience in the nuclear, industrial, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology industries.

Preferred Software Proficiency:

  • Bentley MicroStation V8i or Connect
  • Autodesk AutoCAD
  • SmartPlant 3D

Benefits/Compensation:As a W2 employee of iParametrics, team members are eligible for benefits such as medical, dental and vision, matching 401K, and PTO. All benefits are subject to plan terms and applicable waiting periods. This is an exempt position with an annual salary of $120,000 to $133,000 based on experience, background, and skills.
