About the Role: We are seeking an experienced IBM iSeries AS/400 Specialist to join our dynamic team for a 12-month contract with potential for extension. This role is crucial for managing system updates, upgrades, migration, and sunsetting activities, with a significant emphasis on migrating to a new cloud-based environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform system updates and upgrades for IBM iSeries (AS/400) systems.
- Lead the migration of legacy systems to cloud-based solutions, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
- Manage the sunset process for outdated systems, including data archiving and system decommissioning.
- Develop and document standard operating procedures for migration and system maintenance.
- Monitor system performance post-migration and make adjustments as necessary to optimize operations.
- Provide training and support to other team members on the new cloud environment.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience with IBM iSeries (AS/400) systems, including system administration, updates, and migrations.
- Strong understanding of cloud technologies and experience in migrating legacy systems to the cloud.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Fluent in English with excellent communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment.
Advanced English:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
