We develop scalable, intelligent, and trustworthy AIoT solutions to enable inspiring UX for Bosch products and services in application areas such as automated driving, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), robotics, smart manufacturing, enterprise AI, health care, smart home and building solutions.
Originating from the AI research in Silicon Valley, our Foundation Model Powered AI Enablers group plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of industrial AI experiences for Bosch products and services. By fusing cutting-edge machine learning, data analysis, and interactive visualization technologies, we research and develop scalable and transparent AI & big data analytic solutions (e.g., audio, images, sensor logs) for a range of domains, including Industry 4.0 (I4.0), IoT, autonomous driving, and connected vehicles. Our award-winning team (IEEE VIS best paper & best paper runner-ups) actively collaborates with leading academic and industry groups to advance research ideas and disseminate findings in top AI conferences and journals, such as IEEE VIS, TVCG, CVPR, NeurIPS, AAAI, ICML, SIGKDD, ICASSP, Interspeech, and IEEE Signal Processing Magazine.
Job Description
- Conduct research and engineering in human-assisted AI, including Explainable AI (XAI), human-in-the-loop AI agents, and Visual Analytics, to tackle academic and industrial challenges.
- Apply research findings to real-world use cases, ensuring high-quality implementation and integration of resulting systems/software into existing Bosch platforms.
- Develop full-stack solutions for Visual Analytics systems, ensuring smooth integration of front-end, back-end, and AI models.
- Transform research PoCs into market-ready products and facilitate their deployment in cloud environments.
- Collaborate with an international team of experts to leverage Bosch's in-house GenAI and Foundation Model innovations, as well as third-party solutions, for Bosch AI products and services, such as XAI Validation, ADAS, and AI agents.
- Scout emerging technologies and forecast market trends by monitoring academic conferences, technical events, and seminars.
- Offer expert opinions on relevant technology areas to the management team to facilitate strategic planning, R&D roadmap development, and business investments.
- Document and disseminate research findings through high-quality publications and patent submissions.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Computer Science or related fields.
- 3+ years of relevant research experience or equivalent graduate research experience in Human-Assisted AI applications (e.g., Visual Analytics, Explainable AI, Foundation Models, LLMs, and AI Agents).
- Strong publication records in top venues of visualization, human-computer interaction, machine learning, deep learning, or computer vision (e.g., IEEE VIS, CHI, NeurIPS, ICML, CVPR, IJCV, AAAI, and TVCG).
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages commonly used in machine learning (e.g., Python, C++).
Preferred Qualifications:
- R&D experience in Visual Analytics, Explainable AI, LLM-based agents, task planning/decomposition, and reasoning.
- Proficiency with one or more mainstream machine learning libraries (e.g., PyTorch).
- Proficiency with web application development and relevant frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue).
- Knowledge in backend web development tech stack (e.g., Flask, Django).
Understanding of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) principles (e.g., Azure DevOps). - Experience with container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
- Hands-on experience in the production of AI systems.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Leadership skills to drive research topics.
Additional Information
The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $ 180,000 - $ 200,000. Within the range, individual pay is determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to, work experience and job knowledge, complexity of the role, job location, etc. Your Recruiter can share more details about the specific salary range for this position during the interview process.
