The role of the Senior HR Technology Developer is responsible for maintaining, enhancing, configuring/coding and supporting HR Technology as it supports or enables HR capabilities or practices. This remit includes the system administration and maintenance of Workday and all/any bespoke systems that support HR processes. The Senior HR Technology Developer will have specific responsibilities which run deep within a specific set of HR functions (e.g., Time Tracking, Absence Mgt & Payroll, Compensation and Benefits, etc.) but will be expected to leverage their skills across multiple modules, platforms and subject areas as directed. This position will strive towards modernizing the HR experience, maximizing efficiency and improving manual and semi-manual processes. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Keeping abreast of emerging capabilities/functionality in our HR applications and in the industry in general, and how they may help our business clients
- Leading relationships with clients to understand and document business requirements
- Analyzing the requirements against system capabilities
- Designing systems approaches
- Configuring systems solutions and testing them end-to-end
- Supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and remediating issues
- Production support around deployed configuration and functionality
- Project management, as appropriate
This role reports to the Technical Leader, Systems within HR Technology.
Responsibilities
HRIS Project & Process Management
- Take the lead in the design and implementation of new Workday functionality.
- Understand and coordinate impact to process, operations teams, BBH technology teams (e.g., ISM, AD, IDF, etc.) where appropriate
- Actively pursue innovative initiatives and improvements in current processes.
- Gather/document business requirements.
- Partner with HR Technology team members in the design and delivery of new technologies or capabilities
- Configure changes in Workday based on business requirements.
- Perform testing activities; document test scenarios, create test scripts.
- Perform data conversion and data validation activities.
- Resolve issues and defects.
- Oversee implementation phase of projects.
HRIS Systems Maintenance and Controls
- Workday Core Configuration/ table maintenance (i.e. Locations, company/pay groups, membership rules, custom organizations, cost centers, etc.).
- Workday Configuration for enhancements, address defects, and new functionality (i.e. Time Off Rule, Time Off Plans, Business Process Config/Policy, Alerts etc.)
- Perform mass data loads in Workday (EIBs)
- Develop and document internal HR Technology SOPs.
- Support internal/external integrations with Workday, including design, testing and troubleshooting.
- Conduct audits to ensure data integrity (e.g., supervisory orgs, cost centers, etc.)
- Lead cyclical events for specific disciplines as directed (e.g., Compensation Planning, Performance Management, Year-End Processing, etc.)
Client Focus
- Address inquiries from Client Service Center related to employee data in Workday and external systems such as SG payroll, and other internal BBH systems.
- Lead contact for HR Centers of Excellence and other business owners on functionalities and systems that are managed in and/or supported by data from Workday.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 6 - 9 years’ experience in HRIS or related disciplines (developer disciplines)
- Experience in the financial services industry a plus
- Experience working in a global organization a plus
- Demonstrated ability to understand complex processes and procedures – capacity to translate learnings to that of HR’s processes and procedures (i.e. compensation, benefits, payroll, time tracking, etc.)
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple, high priority tasks and adjust to shifting priorities, while meeting deadlines.
- Knowledge of project management lifecycle
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle highly sensitive data with confidentiality and integrity
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently as well as on a team
- Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt to learn new systems
Salary Range
$110,000 - $170,000
BBH’s compensation program includes base salary, discretionary bonuses, and profit-sharing. The anticipated base salary range(s) shown above are only for the indicated location(s) and may differ in other locations due to cost of living and labor considerations. Base salaries may vary based on factors such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.
