We’re seeking a Senior Reliability Hardware Engineer to be responsible for ensuring the reliability and robustness of hardware components and systems throughout their lifecycle. You will be part of a talented team of engineers and must demonstrate technical competency and possess the interpersonal skills to collaborate with project managers, electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, embedded engineers, and software engineers to deliver a product designed to meet customers’ needs effectively. This role involves conducting reliability testing, analyzing data, identifying potential reliability issues, and developing risk mitigation strategies. Qualified candidates will have broad experience with electro-mechanical systems and a passion for problem-solving.

What you’ll work on:

  • Lead and perform reliability testing and analysis on hardware components and systems
  • Develop and implement reliability test plans, procedures, and protocols
  • Develop test fixtures and automate data collection
  • Use data analytics to assess performance, longevity, scalability, etc.
  • Proactively initiate engagement with cross-functional teams to develop test strategies and execute the plan per the defined schedule
  • Analyze test data to identify failure modes, root causes, and potential reliability issues
  • Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to improve hardware reliability
  • Conduct failure analysis and work with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions
  • Utilize reliability engineering tools and methodologies such as FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis), MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures), and FRACAS (Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System)
  • Prepare and present reliability reports and recommendations to stakeholders
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in reliability engineering

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in hardware reliability engineering or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of reliability principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Experience with component level reliability models, top-down reliability system modelling and allocation, bottom-up system and component level reliability modelling.
  • Experience working with and training Engineering teams on Reliability principles.
  • Cross-disciplinary (system, hardware, embedded/system software) engineering knowledge (depth and breadth) with demonstrable experience driving cross-functional teams
  • Experience with reliability testing methods, including environmental stress testing, accelerated life testing, HALT (Highly Accelerated Life Testing) and shipping testing (ISTA).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to use critical thinking skills to identify, evaluate, and demonstrate solutions to complex system problems.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision to achieve aggressive project goals.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to reliability and testing processes.
  • Ability to travel as needed to support testing and collaboration with other teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional certification in reliability engineering (e.g., ASQ Certified Reliability Engineer).
  • Experience with reliability engineering in consumer electronics.
  • Familiarity with quality standards and regulations relevant to the industry (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 26262)
