Job Description:
As a Senior Hardware Quality Engineer (Sr. HQE) on our Connectivity team, you'll ensure the quality and performance of products like USB-C docking stations, Thunderbolt hubs, and HDMI cables. You will lead test plan development, manage hands-on testing, and oversee validation efforts across teams and external labs. Working closely with Product Development, Engineering, and other teams, you’ll drive improvements, root cause analysis, and ensure products meet quality standards before release. This role also includes global impact, supporting product development, supplier evaluations, test audits, and post-launch issue resolution alongside the Customer Advocacy team.
Responsibilities:

Develop and implement test plans, specifications, procedures, and methodologies that align with product requirements.

Maintain hands-on expertise with various test equipment to ensure compliance with product specifications.

Interpret product technical specifications (EE & FW) to design testing requirements and setups.

Publish clear, actionable test reports to guide engineering decisions.

Improve efficiency in test execution, data reporting, and bug tracking.

Collaborate with senior engineers to execute test cases and provide technical guidance.

Establish testing specifications to verify system-level and component-level product specifications.

Work cross-functionally to provide inputs to Product Functional Specifications and ensure lessons learned are incorporated into new product designs.

Provide weekly updates to the Engineering/Design Assurance teams.

Represent HWQE requirements in cross-functional meetings.

Participate in design reviews and offer solutions to failures and anomalies from testing.

Assist in the procurement of test equipment and software to support test needs.

Collaborate on FMEA, root cause analysis, and CTQ requirements with the PQE team.

Act as SME for USB Type-C, PD chargers, HDMI, cables, wireless charging, and surge protection products.

Guide HQEs and Jr HQEs on testing requirements.

Investigate new technologies and test methodologies.

Respond to Agile-related requests and approvals.

Travel overseas to collaborate with suppliers and audit testing capabilities during development and production.

Provide key inputs to supplier assessments and reporting.

Collaborate with Customer Advocacy teams to communicate product issues and align on testing requirements.

Adhere to ISO 9001 standards.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent is required. Master's is a plus.

5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance or Test Engineering roles.

Knowledge and testing experience with interfaces: Thunderbolt (v1, v2, v3); USB (microUSB 2.0, 3.1, Type-A 3.0, Type-A 3.1, USB-C); HDMI (v1.4, v2.0, v2.1); DisplayPort 1.4, WiFi 802.11n, Ethernet 802.3.

Hands-on experience with macOS, Windows 10+, Android, and iOS.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Understanding of operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS).

Experience with technologies: Quick comprehension of technical issues, failure analysis, and test reports.

Test Automation experience is a plus.

Enthusiasm for Apple products is a plus.

Fluent in Mandarin and English (verbal and written).
