Job Description:
The Senior Hardware Quality Engineer (Sr. HQE) will be responsible for working closely with a team of senior Hardware Quality Engineers and outsource test labs to meet the product testing needs of the organization. This includes developing test plans and test specifications based on functional and technical product requirements. Collaborate with Product Development Management (PDM), Program Management (PGM), Industrial Design (ID), Engineering, and Design Assurance (DA) teams to identify solutions to design issues discovered during product testing, ensuring that all products meet standards before release.
The Sr. HQE will play a hands-on role in the product development life-cycle and work closely with cross-functional teams to proactively identify design improvements, resolve development process issues, and facilitate continuous improvement.
Specific Responsibilities

Develop and implement comprehensive test plans, test specifications, procedures, and methodologies to ensure robust product testing.

Collaborate with senior team members to execute test cases, ensuring consistent quality and reliability standards.

Interpret product technical specifications (EE and FW) to design and set up appropriate testing environments.

Establish and verify system-level and component-level product specifications using test equipment.

Publish clear and concise test reports to support sound engineering decisions.

Work with internal teams (DA, ID, Engineering, PDM) to provide input on Product Functional Specifications.

Capture and incorporate “lessons learned” into new product designs and development processes.

Provide weekly updates to the Engineering and DA teams.

Attend cross-functional meetings to represent HWQA requirements for assigned projects.

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field is required.

3–5 years of experience in Quality Assurance Testing or Test Engineering roles.

Verbal and written fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese.

Proficiency with testing tools, such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, thermal imaging cameras, power supply units (PSU), power analyzers, electronic load testing equipment, LCR meters, and impedance analyzers.

Practical experience with macOS, Windows (10 and above), Android, and iOS operating systems.

Familiarity with interfaces and technologies, including USB (microUSB 2.0, 3.1, Type A 3.0, Type A 3.1, USB-C), Apple Lightning, USB-Power Delivery (USB-PD), Qualcomm Quick Charging (QC3.0, QC 4.0), and Wireless Qi Charging.

Experience with AC/DC testing and a solid understanding of quality standards and industry best practices.

Enthusiasm for Apple and Android devices is a plus.

Proficient in using MS Office Suite.
