General Description:
We are looking for an experienced Senior General Ledger Accountant to join our newly created Shared Service Centre in Warsaw, Poland, primarily supporting the North America Accounting region. This is a key position for an experienced, ambitious financial professional who is motivated to contribute to setting up the regional finance function as BeiGene builds out its presence around the world. The position will deal with a broad range of accounting topics, including, but not limited to, Fixed Assets, Payroll, and Accrued Liabilities. The incumbent must have strong US GAAP knowledge (other local GAAP accounting knowledge a plus) combined with hands on SAP experience. Strong communication and cultural sensitivity are required to coordinate activities across multiple geographies and collaborate with colleagues throughout the globe. As a valuable resource to the organization, the incumbent is pro-active and brings strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a non-structured environment in a hybrid work model.
Essential Functions of the job:
• Own diverse closing activities as required to ensure all month end close tasks are properly and timely recorded
• Prepare journal entries in a timely manner.
• Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations, ensuring appropriate backup in place to support balances; resolve any reconciling items in a timely and appropriate manner.
• Assist with SOX compliance, tax, internal audit and external audit requests.
• Participate in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies and procedures and operational strategies including the review and implementation of process and system changes.
• Continued focus on improving system efficiencies and business practices.
• Miscellaneous projects as they arise.
• Local statutory audit support as required.
Other Qualifications:
• Accounting/Business/Finance Bachelor’s degree
• 5 years GL experience in a multinational company (Big 4 and/or bio-pharma experience a plus).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment and adjust to changing priorities.
• Excellent spoken/written English – any other languages a plus (e.g. French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, etc.).
Computer Skills: SAP S/4 Hana, Excel, Concur, Workday, online banking, Ariba
