Are you looking for an opportunity to work on Towerborne with a team of highly respected game developers, designers, and artists? Are you a content-minded Designer with a knowledge of Unreal Blueprints and a serious passion for level design, quest design, and content implementation? Do you get excited creating fun and challenging things for players to do? Our team at Stoic, a 4-time BAFTA nominated independent video game company, is seeking a Senior Game Designer whose focus will be creating content for Towerborne via Unreal Engine. 


This individual will specifically be working with the Design Director and Principal Designers in Combat and Missions to help design and implement new game modes, quests, missions, and other playable content.

What you will do

  • Work with Combat, Missions, and Live teams to design, and implement, interesting content using in-house tools, Unreal, and its Blueprint system
  • Balance and polish gameplay, including missions and enemy encounters, and implement various player-facing content
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders (Design Director, Live Director) to evaluate data and player feedback to inform future concepts, designs, and game improvements
  • Participate in the game design process at all stages from inception to completion
  • Become a key stakeholder in the long-term player content progression (quest lines, dungeon progression, events, etc.) 
  • Write and maintain documentation that current and future team members will rely upon

Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in the game industry, with Unreal experience a MUST
  • 2+ years working in the Unreal Blueprint system
  • Shipped a title where you were directly responsible for key content design and implementation (dungeons, levels, quest lines, etc.)
  • Detail oriented and quality driven
  • Passionate about learning
  • You really need to be in love with games–RPGs/ARPGs/MMO/Live Games are preferred, but don’t be discouraged if you’re passionate about other genres!

United States Pay Range

$130,000 - $160,000 USD


This range is determined by several factors, including training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. It is subject to change and may be modified in the future.


The final job level and compensation will be determined by the candidate’s work experience, years of relevant experience, skills, qualifications, certifications, geographic location, and other business considerations.
