Rockstar New York is on the lookout for a talented Senior Frontend Engineer who considers software development to be a craft and possesses a passion for tackling complex problems. In this role, you will be part of an enabling team, working across product domains within our Online Services Team.
This is a full-time, in-office position based out of Rockstar’s NYC headquarters in Downtown Manhattan.
WHAT WE DO
- The Rockstar Games Online Services Team is a passionate development group, focused on growing and maintaining the technology platform that powers Rockstar’s online titles and our ability to deliver world-class player experiences.
- We create connected experiences that are found across our game franchises.
- We create online services for our games, including matchmaking, cloud saves, player stats, leaderboards, and more.
- The Core Tech: Online Tooling team is responsible for the architecture, foundational systems, and developing supported pathways to enable Online Services teams to provide an engaging, safe, and fully supported experience for all our online players.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain core shared libraries used by all Online Services teams.
- Maintain and evolve our shared tooling application infrastructure.
- Support engineers with adopting new libraries, frameworks and patterns.
- Collaborate with UX designers to develop accessible UI components.
- Contribute high quality technical documentation and user guides.
- Collaborate with other Rockstar technology teams across our worldwide studios.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 6+ years of professional web development experience using React.
- A degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
SKILLS
- Expert in React, TypeScript, HTML & CSS.
- Experience maintaining and publishing libraries.
- Experience with Storybook, accessibility, and component testing.
- Experience working with source control and related tooling (Git, GitHub, etc.).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, etc.).
- Familiarity with design tools (Figma, Photoshop, etc.).
- Great communication skills as a core member of an internationally based team.
- Passion for web technologies and a desire to remain up to date with the latest technologies.
PLUSES

- Experience with .NET/C#/Visual Studio.
- Familiarity with micro-frontends.
- Experience with design systems.
- Passion for games (especially Rockstar Games titles).

The pay range for this position in New York State (inclusive of New York City) at the start of employment is expected to be between the range below* per year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
