Lead Frontend Software Engineer, Web Foundations

The Role
The Web Foundations team is a frontend infrastructure team that provides and maintains tools, libraries, and systems to support Cash frontend engineers in delivering high-trust, reliable web experiences for our customers. Our team is at the core of Cash App's mission-redefining the world's relationship with money. We're making Cash App that are more relatable, instantly available, and universally accessible.
As a senior frontend infrastructure engineer, you will increase productivity, shepherd engineering excellence, reduce friction, and empower engineers by developing tools, applications, and workflows. We strive to create an environment where frontend engineers find software development delightful and engineering excellence is the default, while providing customers with a safe, feature-rich, and enjoyable web experience. You will work with internal teams and external partners to ensure the solutions you develop integrate seamlessly to deliver best-in-class customer experiences.
You Will

• Codify and advocate for shared conventions and best practices for UI development by developing and maintaining shared libraries such as the design system so teams don't need to reinvent the wheel
• Design, build and support developer tooling, configurations, and integrations to increase reliability and ensure our developer workflows are low friction
• Deliver features to millions of customers, shipping at a fast and exciting cadence
• Work cross-functionally and communicate with our product, design, and other engineering teams to design new services and experiences
• Focus on all aspects of product quality, including in-depth metrics and monitoring
• Lift the skills and expertise of others on the team

You Have

• 5+ years of software development or equivalent experience with expertise in web development
• Experience leading large scale features, which includes planning, managing and executing on the delivery projects in a timely manner while maintaining a high quality bar
• The ability to design and build creative solutions to complex problems
• A strong track record in helping other engineers grow
• A vested interest in advancing Cash App's vision of building for economic empowerment

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
