About this role:

At Astronomer, our R&D team is dedicated to providing an exceptional experience in managing Apache Airflow at scale. As a leading player in the industry, we are seeking a talented Senior Frontend Software Engineer to work on our Growth initiative, a critical component of our expansion strategy.  This role will interact with several high-level leaders cross-functionally in the company.   You will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our platform. Collaborating closely with our applications team and product team, you will build an intuitive onboarding and self-service experience, as well as tools for our users. Your contributions will directly impact our ability to scale and deliver exceptional value to our customers.

What you get to do:

  • Contribute to the frontend design and implementation of the Astro onboarding process while also contributing to the continued improvement of the  Astro features used by our customers.

  • Collaborate within a cross-functional team of Frontend Engineers, API Engineers, Designers, and Product Managers to understand user requirements, implement, and iterate on the features that delight our customers.

  • Continuously evaluate and improve the overall user experiences.

What you bring to the role:

  • Passion for delivering high-quality user experiences.

  • Experience developing consumer-facing applications with modern web technologies such as TypeScript, React, and shared component/design systems.

  • Experience working with RESTful APIs and integrating with backend services.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience with software development best practices, such as code reviews, testing, CI/CD, version control, automation, and debugging.

Bonus points if you have:

  • Experience building developer tooling.

  • Experience building for users who interact with/get value from multiple avenues, including but not limited to web UI, local, 3rd party integrations such as GIT.

  • Experience building SaaS applications and/or applications with complex security and control systems.

  • Experience in UI design and/or working with design systems.

The estimated salary for this role ranges from $180,000 - $210,000 based on leveling and geography, along with an equity component and a comprehensive benefits package. This range is merely an estimate; actual compensation may deviate from this range based on skills, experience, and qualifications.
