About the Role

CapIntel is looking for a Senior Frontend Developer to help shape our platform’s architecture, scalability, and performance. You'll play a crucial role in defining best practices, and collaborating with designers and product managers to build seamless, high-performing, and accessible user experiences. Your expertise in frontend development, performance optimization, and modern frameworks will drive the growth and usability of our platform. While this is primarily a frontend role, familiarity with backend technologies is expected, and you may occasionally contribute to backend development within the MERN stack.

What You'll Do

  • Own the frontend development lifecycle – from planning and design to implementation and deployment.
  • Architect scalable and maintainable solutions using JavaScript/TypeScript, especially React
  • Optimize performance and manage states efficiently, ensuring fast, responsive user interfaces.
  • Integrate seamlessly with backend services, collaborating with backend engineers on performant, full-stack solutions.
  • Conduct thoughtful code reviews and uphold high standards for code quality and maintainability.
  • Collaborate with product and design teams to build user-centric features aligned with business goals.
  • Stay current with emerging frontend technologies and continuously refine our development workflows.
  • Contribute to consistent, inclusive UI across the platform, including championing accessibility (WCAG compliance).

What We're Looking For

  • Front-end Expertise: Deep experience in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frameworks, especially React.
  • Architecture & Performance: Strong understanding of scalable front-end systems and performance best practices.
  • MERN Stack Familiarity: Experience working in environments using MongoDB, Express, React, and Node.js.
  • Testing & Quality: You write reliable, maintainable code and build with testing in mind from the start.
  • Clear Communication: You express technical concepts clearly and collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical teammates.
  • Ownership and Flexibility: You take initiative, follow through on responsibilities, and adjust smoothly when priorities shift — always keeping the bigger picture in mind.

Bonus Experience

  • Familiarity with T3 Tech Stack (Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS).
  • Working knowledge of AWS services, CI/CD workflows and Git best practices.
  • Experience with design systems and leading UI consistency initiatives.
  • Expertise in diagnosing and preventing performance and optimization issues.
  • A passion for continuously learning, improving workflows, and implementing modern frontend methodologies.

The Interview Process

  1. Multiple Choice Technical Assessment: A general assessment of your JavaScript and software development skills, designed to evaluate your foundational technical knowledge.
  2. 30-Minute Video Call with a Talent Acquisition Partner: A conversation to get to know you better, discuss your experience and motivations, and explore your technical knowledge and cultural fit for the role.
  3. 60-Minute Interview with a Member of Engineering Leadership: A deeper dive into your technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and alignment with our team’s goals. This interview also focuses on your approach to collaboration and communication within a cross-functional environment.
  4. 75-Minute Live Coding Session: A hands-on coding session with a Team Lead or Engineering Leader. You’ll be tasked with solving a technical problem in real-time, where we’ll evaluate your coding skills, problem-solving abilities, and approach to optimizing code.
