The Opportunity
This position is based in San Juan, Puerto Rico for our International Finance Operations Division.
As Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for supporting affiliate adherence to the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Abbott policies and procedures. The incumbent is responsible for performing the day- to-day general ledger accounting, financial reporting and analysis for assigned functional areas. The position supports the month end closing activities, payroll, treasury, and tax compliance related activities. Prepare or assist in the preparation as the case may be of Federal and Puerto Rico Corporation Income Tax Returns, Corporation Property Tax Returns, Municipal Volume of Business Declarations, Corporation Annual Reports, Monthly Excise Tax Returns, Sales and Use Tax Returns, and other government compliance required filings. Ensure that Abbott Puerto Rico Operations comply with periodic tax payments, information reporting, and other tax authority requirements.
What You’ll Do

Assist local management in the financial analysis, and explanation of variances from predetermined departmental budgets.

Perform general accounting complying with company policies and GAAP.

Ensure monthly/quarterly/yearly results are prepared timely and accurately.

Assistance to the general accounting group in the compilation and integrity of financial data including gathering, approvals, processing and auditing of accounting transactions.

Responsible for all Abbott PR entities payroll, employee benefits, and treasury related accounting transactions. Participate and assists in the preparation of monthly D.1.1, D.56 reporting and financial statements packages.

Assist in the tax compliance work for all Abbott Puerto Rico entities: Prepare corporation income tax returns, volume of business declarations, corporation annual reports, corporation property tax returns, excise tax returns, sales and use tax returns, estimated tax payments, and other government required filings.

Ensure that compliance returns and the related payments are filed with tax authorities within the established deadlines. Calculate income tax provisions and deferred taxes for Abbott Puerto Rico entities. Interact with external and internal auditors. Support related requests.

Perform balance sheet account reconciliations, account analysis, accrual calculations, and other related accounting documents/schedules. Provides information to and support special requests from internal customers/ Abbott divisions as required.

Cross train as back-ups for other finance staff. Conduct finance related special projects as required
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business administration with Major in Accounting.

6 years of experience in a similar role. Additional 2 years of experience in taxes and 2 years of experience in general public accounting.

The base pay for this position is
$66,000.00 – $132,000.00
In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
