Q2 is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Financial Analyst to join the Finance team and support our Sales & Marketing function. This role will play a critical part in driving data-driven insights and strategic financial planning to help us achieve our growth objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial analysis and experience with sales compensation, commissions, and incentive structures. Reporting to the Senior Manager, FP&A, this role will collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, and FP&A teams. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial Planning & Analysis:

  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes for Sales & Marketing, ensuring alignment with company goals.
  • Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual analysis of Sales & Marketing performance, identifying trends, key drivers, and areas for improvement.


Data Analysis & Strategic Support:

  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis to evaluate the financial impact of various sales and marketing initiatives, including ROI and cost-benefit analysis.
  • Partner with Sales and Marketing leaders to support strategic initiatives and provide insights to drive decision-making.


Performance Reporting:

  • Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to track Sales & Marketing KPIs, such as customer acquisition costs, revenue, and customer lifetime value.
  • Prepare and present insights for executive and cross-functional stakeholders, communicating complex data in a concise, actionable manner.


Sales Compensation & Commissions:

  • Analyze and model sales compensation plans, including commission and incentive structures, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and financial targets.
  • Assist in the design, implementation, and administration of sales incentive programs and performance-based compensation, working closely with Sales, Sales Operations, and the People Teams.
  • Monitor and report on sales compensation expenses, forecast potential impacts on budgets, and provide actionable insights to optimize plan performance.


EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 8 years of related experience; or an advanced degree with 6+ years of experience; or equivalent related work experience
  • Strong knowledge of financial principles and accounting/budgeting practices
  • Strong understanding of sales compensation and commission structures, with the ability to model and analyze complex incentive programs.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to draw insights from data and present findings to senior leadership.
  • Ability to solve complex problems with creative solutions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset and the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong, cross-functional working relationships and add value as a financial business partner
  • Background in financial services, information technology and/or software is a definite advantage, particularly SaaS, including software revenue recognition
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling; experience with data visualization tools and financial systems (Anaplan & NetSuite) is preferred.
