Job Description Summary

The position is focused on business case analysis for larger programs, company cross-business unit projects, plant loading, etc., and projects related to process and training for plant operations finance, including accounting, budgeting, and forecasting, internal controls, and report outs. Supports the company business case model, capital plan, productivity process, and system projects. The position also supports compliance with the policies and procedures for the financial activities of the organization, including forecasts, budget development, and management, analyzing and interpreting financial data, and recommending changes to improve financial performance. The successful candidate will be leading areas of risk for organization and acting as a resource regarding such matters. Prepares materials for presentation to AAM executive leadership, Board of Directors, and other key partner meetings.

Job Description

• Leads associate outcomes by training, assigning, coaching, and counseling as needed; communicating job expectations; monitoring job contributions; and adhering to policies and procedures.
• Ensures adherence to standards, budgets, and departmental goals/operational objectives, based on company policies and available resources.
• Establishes an environment to empower others and to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency.
• Meets finance operational standards by contributing information to strategic plans and reviews, including preparing business cases, implementing productivity, resolving problems, and identifying system improvements.
• Meets finance financial standards by providing annual budget information, monitoring expenditures, identifying variances, and implementing corrective actions.
• Adheres to the organization's financial practices by monitoring the application of accounting policies and procedures and conducting audits.
• Improves the organization's financial status by analyzing variances and recommending action.
• Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports by collecting, analyzing, consolidating, and summarizing data and trends.
• Protects organization value by keeping information confidential, cautioning others regarding potential breaches.
• All other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Education

• BA/BS
• Minimum 5 years of related experience

Preferred Skills and Education

• Accounting/Finance Degree preferred
• Advanced Degree preferred
• Minimum 5 years of related experience
• Automotive or manufacturing industry with plant controlling experience
