Senior Finance Specialist – Telenor Shared Services Portugal

You will collaborate daily with the Managing Director & Country Manager of TSS Portugal and, although your focus will be on ensuring accurate financial operations for our location in Lisbon, you will work as an integrated member of the global TSS Finance Support chapter, reporting to the VP Finance Support (CFO). The team has colleagues both in Norway and Pakistan and collaborates with finance teams in other Nordic business units as well. Together, we ensure that Telenor Shared Services operates with excellence, efficiency, and integrity on a global scale.

Telenor Shared Services has its head office in Norway with main hubs in Portugal (TSS Portugal) and Pakistan and departments/employees located in Sweden, Denmark and Finland.
Your new Role
As a Senior Finance Specialist, you will be responsible for:

Oversee and coordinate end-to-end accounting processes in collaboration with our accounting and payroll teams (internal/external), ensuring accurate financial reporting

Perform financial controlling tasks, including analysis and monitoring of results

Ensure that our financial records and reports comply with Portuguese accounting standards and tax regulations

Preparing and reviewing financial statements and submitting tax returns

Deliver guidance on financial and tax matters so that the company remains in full legal and regulatory compliance

Prepare forecasts and manage intercompany subjects with Telenor group entities

Support in procurement processes

Be the main finance point of contact between Portugal, Norway and Pakistan

Support the Managing Director & Country Manager with Finance related matters

Act as the local point of contact for TSS VP Finance Support (CFO)

Participate in TSS Finance Support team meetings and common cross-location projects

Based on your background, you might be given a cross-location subject matter role of specific Finance processes.
What we believe you will need to succeed in the role
To succeed as a Senior Finance Specialist, we think you will need:

A relevant university degree, in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or Economics.

Demonstrated proficiency in Portuguese accounting standards, legislation, tax frameworks, and ethical guidelines

Good understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards

Hands-on experience with bookkeeping, financial reporting, tax compliance, and related finance functions

Experience in working with different accounting and financial reporting systems, we use the Oracle suite
-
Strong service orientation mindset and positive attitude

Sense of urgency and ability to work structured and meet deadlines

Ambitious and motivated to work in a collaborative environment

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - Fluency in Portuguese and English
