About the Team
Financial Services partners with all areas of CommBank to provide specialist advice on financial management and strategy. This advice covers finance, audit, treasury, investor relations, property, procurement and security.
The Group Support Services Finance (GSSF) team is part of Group Finance, partnering with senior leadership of the bank’s Financial Services, Marketing, Strategy, Risk, Human Resources and Legal functions. GSSF manages the end-to-end finance functions for these support units and collaborates regularly with the other business unit finance teams throughout the organisation. The team manages a significant portion of the Group’s cost base and has direct engagement and exposure to many members of the Bank’s senior leadership team.

The purpose of the role is to provide finance support to Group Strategy and x15ventures. You will own the day-to-day finance operations and regular deliverables. You will also provide the finance support to the ventures as they scale and expand. To be successful in this role, you will need the ability to manage stakeholders, to prioritise and possess a continuous improvement mindset.
Key duties will include:
- Maintain robust financial control through: Processing of month end journals and Balance sheet analysis, substantiation and reconciliation
- Management reporting: successfully own the month-end process and P&L analysis including presentation of month end results, and complete monthly submissions to Group Finance
- Report the monthly result to senior business stakeholders across the x15ventures portfolio
- Planning & forecasting: manage the revenue and expense budgets and forecasts for Group Strategy and x15ventures, including rolling forecasts for individual ventures
- Business partnering: work closely with ventures and the x15 core team to track performance and milestones, and apply financial and accounting acumen to assist with decision making including engaging SMEs within Group Finance where required for expertise on areas such as Accounting Policy and Tax
- Process improvement, standardization and simplification Preparation, presentation and monitoring of annual budgets and rolling forecasts following extensive engagement with key stakeholders
- Subsidiary management: prepare management accounts for the x15 legal entities and investment related activities

- Management or financial accounting experience
- Commercial acumen and strong analytical skills
- CA/CPA/CFA qualified, or part qualified
- High levels of motivation and resilience
- Excellent customer & continuous improvement focus
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
- Strong communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Demonstrated strategic thinking and execution
- High degree of competence in Excel
