Summary:

We, at Age of Learning, are looking for someone who excels at pushing the boundaries of creativity and can excel across a diverse range of UI/UX design projects. Participate in all phases of the design process including conceptual design/development, interface design, interaction models, user flows, prototypes, user testing, and production. Work closely with key stakeholders to establish and maintain the visual integrity, interaction methods, brand standards, and consistency for our products while collaborating with the wider marketing team on execution of designs. You will report to the Senior Creative Director of Marketing.


Senior Experience Designer (SEO)

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Senior Experience Designer (SEO) to join the Marketing department at Age of Learning. The ideal candidate will bring creativity and technical expertise to design and optimize web pages that are visually appealing, user-friendly, and aligned with SEO best practices. This role bridges design and performance, ensuring our web assets enhance both user experience and search engine visibility. Additionally, the designer will contribute to the creation of printable assets like worksheets and other educational materials for our content team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Website Design & Development: Design and enhance existing WordPress web pages to ensure they align with brand guidelines while optimizing for SEO, mobile responsiveness, and user experience. Create innovative new designs in Figma for future web pages and collaborate closely with engineers to implement them seamlessly into WordPress.
  • SEO-Driven Design: Partner with the SEO team to create designs that enhance site structure, boost load speed, and improve search engine rankings.
  • User-Centric Focus: Design web pages with an emphasis on user engagement metrics, including click-through rates (CTR), time-on-page, and conversion optimization.
  • Mobile Optimization: Ensure all designs are fully responsive and deliver exceptional user experiences across all devices and screen sizes.
  • Graphic & Printable Asset Design: Develop and refine visually appealing digital and print assets including worksheets, social media assets, educational materials, and other graphics, using tools like Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Figma.
  • Content Management: Assist with uploading and managing content in WordPress, ensuring it is visually optimized, structured for SEO, and aligned with best practices for usability and accessibility.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work alongside developers to troubleshoot, implement designs, and improve overall site functionality while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay ahead of design and SEO trends, leveraging the latest tools, techniques, and technologies to continually enhance the website's performance and visual appeal.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HCI, Design, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, web design or related area required. A combination of education and experience may substitute for a Bachelor's degree.
  • 6+ years of experience in the app development and/or web industry, with a focus on UX/UI design.
  • Proven experience in web design, particularly for SEO and content-focused websites.
  • Proficiency in WordPress, including creating and modifying templates.
  • Advanced skills in Figma, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator.
  • Strong understanding of mobile-first design principles and responsive frameworks.
  • Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript for troubleshooting and collaboration with developers.
  • Experience optimizing websites for user engagement metrics, including UX/UI best practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail with ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with A/B testing tools.
  • Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG compliance).
  • Knowledge of analytics tools like Google Analytics, GA4, and heatmap software.
  • Experience working with structured data and schema implementation.
