Job Summary

We are recruiting a Sr. Events Manager to plan, organize, and execute a wide range of events aimed at creating brand awareness and supporting demand generation initiatives for FusionAuth and our customers. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, fast worker and excited about growing a company from the ground up. The role will report to the Head of Growth Marketing. We are open to full time US based candidates to work as a dedicated full-time employee. Most of our staff reside in the Mountain or Pacific time zone but we are open to any US location.

The Sr. Events Manager will outline a comprehensive events strategy, including but not limited to Developer Relations, customer events, and events focused on lead generation. This growing company needs a full-time, roll-up-your-sleeves pro with a diverse background scaling an organization through multiple stages (i.e. seven-figure, eight-figure, and nine-figure revenue). We are growing rapidly and you will be the direct owner of strategizing and implementing a high-functioning, performant, and iterative events operation from scratch.

Experience

We are looking for someone that has done this before for this critical newly created role.

Top 3 things you have done successfully:

  1. Created an events strategy from scratch, taking into account broad business goals and functional needs across a company.
  2. Executed local meet-ups, larger events in the USA and Europe, and customer-focused events, from ideation to budgeting and all the way to execution.
  3. Managed cross-functionally outside of marketing, directly with Sales, Product, and other related departments.

Other things in your toolbox:

  • been in hyper-growth recurring revenue tech or cyber startup companies;
  • able to roll up your sleeves and get things done in early days while also seeing the bigger picture;
  • a vision of what the organization needs 12 months out and can execute the plan to get there.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and strategize the overall events plan, from cross-functional ideation to commitment, budgeting and feedback loops, incorporating research of FusionAuth’s ICP and main business objectives.
  • Project manage and execute across a broad mix of events including trade shows, local and regional meet-ups, internal events, and customer road shows
  • Set up and manage vendor relationships as they pertain to swag, signage, onsite set-up, venue needs and additional logistics.
  • Collaborate with marketing team members to coordinate the design and production of signage, printed collateral pieces, and tradeshow booth graphics.
  • Conduct research to determine unique experiences for FusionAuth’s ICP that will create excitement and drive meaningful engagement at events.
  • Measure the overall impact of events and ROI on budget spend over time, to guide further decisions and spend.
  • Manage inventory of company & event swag, promotional items, and other Marketing supplies and order more as needed (with approval).
  • Track all event related expenses and assist in overall budget management.
  • Use event and marketing technology to track key metrics such as event registrations, Salesforce contact imports, lead assignments, drip campaigns, and more.
  • Create post-event reports to be shared with departmental leaders.
  • Provide assistance with other marketing projects as needed (ordering business cards, intranet announcements, social media posts and account management).
  • Guide the rest of the marketing team toward self-serve processes for the materials you need around messaging, design, budget and more.
  • Contact and organize co-hosting with partners, optimizing for those with complementary offerings for FusionAuth’s Ideal Customer Profile (ICP).
  • Project manage the submission of CFPs for key events across DevRel and the rest of FusionAuth.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrable experience across a wide range of local, international, and internally focused events
  • Strong vendor management skills including cost negotiations, scheduling, shipping, and all aspects related to vendors needed for events
  • Strong communications skills and the ability to “think on your feet” in high intensity, and often urgent, situations (calm under pressure)
  • 6 years minimum related experience; prior experience in a fast-growing tech company strongly preferred
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Exceptional project management, planning, and budgeting skills
  • Has a strong network to draw from amongst companies with complementary offerings for FusionAuth’s ICP
  • A strong sense of urgency and ownership over projects and deliverables
  • Proficiency in Salesforce and Hubspot for lead reporting and uploading
  • High-level of integrity and a humble ethical person

Compensation

  • $100k-145k expected base salary range*

What We Do

FusionAuth builds software for developers needing to add authentication to their software products. It's a big problem - every application needs authentication, but building it yourself is a complex distraction. We distribute our free Community software through word-of-mouth reputation to software developers worldwide. We nurture and support the software development communities, taking their input to give "Devs" the features they need for secure and convenient Customer Identity and Access Management. And we've built a fast growing business by offering paid plans and hosting with higher end features and support.

It's Product Led Growth at its best. Start with the free version, then when your business depends on customers logging into your application, upgrade to our full featured plans. Over 3,000 companies already have..

Why Work With Us

FusionAuth is a founder-led company. We are profitable but recently raised an investment round to accelerate our growth (more on that here: https://fusionauth.io/blog/fusionauth-funding). We have a culture of software developers ("Devs") building great software for use by other Devs, the way they want to see it.
