About the role:
- Responsible for the set-up and operation of survey equipment on, and/or leading, projects of medium to high complexity.
- This may include responsibility for the execution of some positioning and navigation and data acquisition tasks.
- Ultimately responsible for: the set-up, interfacing, networking, testing, operation, repair, and maintenance of survey equipment; the compilation of engineering/survey reports; and the appropriate QC of data and reports.
- Responsible for all engineering-related aspects of the project, including the supervision/training of more junior team members.
What we are looking for:
- Preference will be given to candidates who have a university degree in electronic or electrical engineering, combined with proven offshore experience (5 years min) in either marine geophysical (analogue and / or digital) survey acquisition, or marine subsea construction / positioning – or preferably both.
- It is expected that this would have been in support of the marine oil & gas, offshore wind farm, hydrographic, or submarine cable industries.
- Proven experience with surface and subsea positioning systems as a minimum, and preferably also subsea analogue or digital seismic survey data acquisition systems.
- AUV operational and payload systems experience is highly desirable.
- Good ability in verbal and written English (technical) language is required.
