Job Description
As a Senior Engineer (Developer), you will be part of a team that accelerates front-end software development for adopters of our (Rockwell Automation) internal UI toolkit. Our mission is to help with the use of the toolkit, remove barriers, help with the contribution process back to the toolkit, respond quickly to the needs of emergent projects, and react to opportunities all over the company. The toolkit implements our (Rockwell Automation) design system. Your work will involve front-end work with knowledge of how to connect to different back-ends. Primary technologies are Angular and TypeScript, but since we support multiple teams in our company, we often encounter different front-end technologies (React, web components, Vue, Blazor)
The team is part of the newly established (last year) Rockwell Automation Design System program, which consists of three teams focusing on different areas: one creates a design system and provides design help, one develops the toolkit itself, and one supports the toolkit adopters directly in its codebase (which you will be part of).
The current team consists of three people, all developers. It has an assigned scrum master. The team is located in the Rockwell Automation office in Prague, Czech Republic. You will report to the Engineering Team Lead, Digital & Platform Technologies, and you will be eligible for a hybrid schedule.
Your Responsibilities:
- Develop atomic components in Angular/TypeScript
- Unit tests, code review
- Collaboration with testers, preparing test cases in testing application
- Document written code and preparing use cases in documentation
- Troubleshoot bugs
- Support for toolkit users
The Essentials - You Will Have:
- University degree in IT
- Knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript and OOP
- 4+ years of professional experience with any front-end technology framework
- Experience working in an Agile environment
- Experience in version control tools (Git)
- Experience with project management tool (Jira)
- English at a communicative level - communication with adopters, writing/reading documentation, guides
- Willingness to participate in professional development activities to stay current on industry knowledge
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
- Knowledge of Angular an asset, but not a necessity
- Knowledge of Czech is an advantage, but not a necessity
