Job Duties and Responsibilities
As a Senior Technical Specialist in Middleware Operations, you will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing our middleware infrastructure. You will be responsible for the administration, troubleshooting, and enhancement of WebMethods, Redis, and Tomcat environments. Your expertise in observability platforms like Logz and Dynatrace, coupled with strong Linux shell scripting skills, will be essential in maintaining high availability and performance of our systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and optimize WebMethods integration platform, Tomcat application servers and Redis or similar caching technology
- Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of these systems
- Utilize observability platforms such as Logz.io and Dynatrace to monitor system performance, detect anomalies, and proactively address potential issues
- Provide advanced technical support for middleware issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement solutions to resolve complex problems
- Develop and maintain Linux shell scripts to automate routine tasks, streamline operations, and improve efficiency
- Plan and execute system upgrades, patches, and configuration changes to ensure systems are up-to-date and secure
- Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures. Generate regular performance and status reports for management review
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Development, QA, and Operations, to ensure seamless integration and deployment of applications
- Advocate for and implement industry best practices related to middleware operations, performance tuning, and observability
Skills, Experience and Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field Relevant certifications are a plus
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with WebMethods, Tomcat and Redis or a similar caching technology. Proven track record in middleware operations and support
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficiency with elastic search, Lucene/Kibana Query language and APM Solutions for performance monitoring and troubleshooting
- Strong expertise in Linux shell scripting for automation and operational tasks
- In-depth knowledge of middleware architecture, performance tuning, and system optimization
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues efficiently
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Proficiency in deploying and managing applications with Helm charts on Kubernetes clusters
Salary Ranges
Compensation: $96,250.00/Year - $137,500.00/Year
