The Industrial Power Systems group is seeking a motivated, technology focused, experienced applications engineer to be part of our growing product development team. Within this role the Applications Engineer may support multiple products and priorities within the power protection, battery charger and isolated power products.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving and communications capabilities, providing development and technical support.
The role includes creating reference designs that are used to promote the company’s products, instructs and supports customers working on products to guarantee the success of the customer’s system.
The role includes supporting the customers through the entire design process with technical expertise, reference designs, development tools, documentation, debug, and design support.
Description of Job/ Duties and Responsibilities:
In the role of Applications Engineer, your immediate responsibilities include:

Design, bench testing and debugging of electronic circuits including troubleshooting support throughout the product lifecycle.

Ability to debug and troubleshoot technical issues in support of FAE’s and customers.
-
Work on developing user guides, datasheets, and reference material for products.
-
Performing thorough new product evaluations and test plans.
-
Supporting existing products for field applications engineers and customers.
-
Developing design and simulation models, tools, and circuits such as with LTspice.
-
Provide technical writing, presentations, and trainings.
-
Play an active role within development teams acting as a customer advocate to help ensure teams make informed decisions.
Required Skills:
-
Ability to working independently on application circuits of power products.
-
Require excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Experience with schematic capture, PCB design and simulation tools.
-
Hands-on experience with lab equipment.
-
Team player with a positive, proactive attitude.
-
Ability to communicate clearly with applications, marketing, field sales engineers, and customers is preferred.
Minimum Qualifications:
-
Preferred Qualifications: Honours Degree in Electrical/Electronic, Electronic & Computer Engineering or similar.

4+ years plus semiconductor industry experience with a power background an advantage.
Preferred Qualifications:

Good understanding of the power applications and key circuit topologies.
