Job Duties and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily (self-assigned) work in DEV&PROD within On-Premise, CLOUD and Edge-GPU data compute to include Server builds/maintenance and monitoring, User Interface design (Grafana/Splunk), deployments of Alert-of-Process/Event (AoPe) actions, with automated corrective action prompts and includes responsibility for employee use training and team building
- Provides API review, establishing data base sharing technologies and guidance to achieve data analytical analysis with correlation of "Probable Cause" to signal processing systems for modern Direct-To-Home broadcast utilizing RF technologies in the Ground-to-Space segment of Geo Stationary satellite networks for ~6 Million + customer devices
- Research, design & building, script and/or CHAT-gpt & dashboard builds in DEV environment seeking collaboration approval to release to PROD for internal customers with Equipment rooms ranging in temperatures from 50 to 100F
- Occasionally must be able to work in tight spaces or low ceiling. i.e, under computer floors
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk or hear
- Regular interaction with a variety of different content, to include those that may be political, religious, violent, or of an explicit nature
- Fast paced, demanding adaptability to changing priorities and direction in an Agile flow to meet budgetary challenges with constant focus to prove Return On Investment (ROI)
- ROI requires OpenAI approach to tools and projects for "In-House" project builds
Working Conditions:
Primarily reside in office Cubicle (client computer work space); networking with DISH Technologies teams; i.e. ESO (Earth Station Operations), SOC (Satellite Operations Control), BSRE (Broadcast Systems Resource Engineers), AWS support teams, INFOSEC Security, Broadcast Network, IT, etc.
Skills, Experience and Requirements
Education and Experience:
- BA/BS or MA/MS preferred in electrical, mechanical, computer, business areas related to SatCom technologies
- 4-6 years of SATCOM/RF Technologies. Uplink and downlink Systems, Space Segment, RF, Link Budgets, Modulation Schemes, Frequency Conversion, etc.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Hands on experience with IP networking, TCP/IP protocols, Routing and Switching
- Familiarity with on-prem and cloud-based storage and compute infrastructure platforms
- Experience with IP-based network technologies, virtual machines and database administration
- Ability to support a 24 x 7 365 availability, to include occasional modifications to schedule for support of project needs
- Hands on experience with automation, writing and running basic scripts using one or more of common scripting tools/languages including SQL/Perl/Python/Bash/and others
- Familiar with modern data collection tools and practices such as Python, MySQL, ArcGIS, Linux, Kumora, Elk Stack, Meta data-Grafana, VMware, AWS, Networking, Security (info sec), Cloud, etc
- Experience with Observability Platforms and their role in the organization, Grafana, ELK, Splunk, etc
- Build, manage and support AWS, Cloud, and (On-Prem) data storage, data collection, data farming, Probable Cause Analysis (PCA)
- Lifting - Ability to move or lift 50 lbs. Frequently moves various equipment into and out of their assigned racks
- Must be able to stand for extended periods
- Ability to remain calm under pressure, have excellent time management skills and the ability to recall extensive technical knowledge quickly has fun data mining with the goal of improving the customer experience
- Must be able to solve complex problems in a timely manner
- Experienced in application of a wide range of television broadcasting equipment and systems
- Experience in training and leading team of engineers
- Experience presenting concepts and ideas to team, stakeholders, and diverse engineering groups
- Experience in engineering project management and use of tools associated

- Docker certification
- Kubernetes CKA
- CompTIA Cloud+
- Linux ie RedHat
- GVF
- Satcom Recognized training
- CCNA level networking knowledge
Salary Ranges
Compensation: $96,250.00/Year - $137,500.00/Year

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
