As an EBU Application Engineer at Micron Technology, you will develop and maintain technical product documentation. This will include design documentation, datasheets, product training material and migration guides.  You will act as product specification subject matter expert and will provide design reviews and work with internal teams to determine feasibility of new product features along with determining whether the products will meet the needs of the market. You will also be the first point of contact for questions related to specifications, operation and utilization of our DRAM devices. In this role you are responsible for enabling Microns DRAM technology in the various market segments by providing product trainings, answering customer questions, reviewing designs and assist with new system bring up issues. In this role you will act as the liaison between our customers and Micron’s internal technical teams.

Job responsibilities and Tasks
Create and manage technical documentation
- Develop internal design documentation for future products working with design engineering on feasibility of new product ideas, features and specs
- Validate and document new product capabilities and customer specific requirements, working with PE/QA and design
- Create and maintain EBU’s design addendum and product datasheets
- Create technical notes to explain complex DRAM topics in a more understandable and user friendly way.

Develop and deliver technical training material

-5+ years of relevant experience in memory domain
- Develop and deliver product training material to explain differences from older technologies (LP4 vs LP5) and to highlight the benefits of new features and functions.

- Develop material that highlights current and future bottlenecks and concerns related to DRAM products
- Create or modify design tools that can be used outside of Micron to design our DRAM products into their systems.  Ie. Power calculator
- Present at technical conferences covering new and future product features and functions
- Coordinate and drive technical content for customer Quarterly Technical Review (QTR)

Manage and provide technical customer support
- Act as liaison between the customer and internal Micron resources
- Review designs from customers
- Support new product bring up issues
- Support the Product Change Notice (PCN) process
- Evaluate and represent Micron’s position for legal (i.e., archive research, depositions, technical evaluation review for patent depositions)

Enabling DRAM and Products
- Monitor external and internal qualifications
- Act as primary point of contact for all technical questions from internal/external customers relating to how a device works or how it is used
- Review customer designs prior to hardware including, schematics, board files, simulations, and thermal analysis
- Work with customers to enable migrations to use our new die shrinks with existing customer products
- Enable new product technologies

Define new products

- Define customer product requirements, working with external customers, Micron’s sales and marketing.

- Work with internal engineering teams for new product features (form, fit or function) feasibility studies

Required Skills

- Fluent in English

- Strong communication skills both written and verbal.

- Strong presentation skills.  Can convey complex technical topics to peers and customers in an easy to understand and accurate manner

- Strong interpersonal skills and able to maintain positive relationships with colleagues and external customers and partners

- Self-directed

- Tenacity

- Ability to understand and debug complex technical problems

- 3 or more years of DRAM experience  

Favorable Skills

- DRAM design, DRAM Product engineering or DRAM test engineering background

- Knowledgeable about semi-conductor testing philosophy and documentation

- Adobe FrameMaker experience

- Experience with Verilog, HSPICE, thermal modeling & PDN analysis

Education: BSEE/BSCE or equivalent
