Thompson Software Solutions is seeking a mid- to senior-level Embedded Software Engineer who is ready to work with a talented team to provide innovative solutions for tomorrow’s problems. This position requires a software engineer to use a wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the software field to develop, integrate, and test software products. The successful candidate will be a member of a high-performing multi-site team and must be self-motivated with a strong work ethic, time-management, and interpersonal skills. In this role, you will work independently at times on projects, at other times will be in a collaborative team environment with other software engineers, as well as other program development and deployment teams.
Selected applicant will be subjected to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and must maintain eligibility for continued access to classified information throughout their employment as required by the job.

What We Need To See
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline
- 5+ years of C/C++ software development experience
- Prior experience writing embedded software (C, C++, and/or Ada)
- Prior experience troubleshooting/debugging on target hardware in lab/mock-up environments
- Prior experience with networking and socket programming (TCP/IP protocol stack, etc.)
- Proficient with Linux and Windows development environments
- Experience with real-time operating system integration (e.g. Green Hills, Wind River)
- Familiarity with architecting and creating Green Hills scheduler and architecture file.
- Familiar with system design & architecture.
- Defensive system knowledge.
- Ability to work onsite 75-100%.
- Ability to professionally communicate project status and collaborate on technical solutions with clients and peers.
- "Must be eligible for a security clearance."
- Ability to travel up to 25%
Salary Range $120,000 - $155,000
Ways To Stand Out From The Crowd
- Proficient with Atlassian Tools (Confluence, JIRA, Bitbucket, etc.)
- Experience using static analysis tools (Parasoft, Coverity, SonarQube, or similar analysis tool)
- Experience with structural coverage and software test automation tools for embedded systems (e.g. VectorCAST)
- Experience with Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA), ARINC 653 and flight software development
- Experience with safety-critical software development and practices (DO-178C)
- Experience communicating and documenting complex technical designs
