Senior Director, Embedded Software
What You Will Be Doing
- Lead and mentor a team of QA engineers, ensuring effective testing of embedded software across our EV charging products.
- Define and implement comprehensive test strategies for embedded software in EV chargers, including functional, performance, integration, and regression testing.
- Oversee manual and automated testing efforts for embedded systems in EV chargers, ensuring high-quality product releases.
- Lead the development and maintenance of test automation frameworks and tools to support efficient and scalable testing processes for embedded systems.
- Collaborate closely with hardware, firmware, and product teams to ensure seamless integration and validation of embedded software within the charging stations.
- Provide regular reports to senior management on testing progress, quality metrics, risk assessments, and key issues, ensuring transparency and alignment with product goals.
- Ensure that software quality meets or exceeds customer expectations and works efficiently under real-world conditions at EV charging sites.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 12+ Years, Experience in hardware QA and/or embedded QA and/or QA automation.
- 3+ yrs experience in managing QA teams.
- Experience with continuous integration (CI), version control (e.g., Git), and issue tracking systems (e.g., Jira).
- Expertise in building, scaling, and managing automated test frameworks for embedded systems using Python.
- Well versed with Agile Methodology.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC), particularly in embedded environments.
- Problem-solving mindset and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a geographically diverse team and communicate technical concepts clearly.
- Familiarity with EV charging protocols, standards, and related hardware systems is a bonus.
