This Senior Editor's main focus is assisting the Managing Editor in the management, resourcing and support of Lonely Planet’s pool of freelance editors (both copy and layout).
What You'll Do:

Working as part of a team, the primary responsibilities of this role are:
- Recruitment and training of new freelance editors
- Quality assurance and maintenance of editorial standards, including adherence to Editorial Principles and the guidebook structure guidelines through:
- ongoing checking of work and giving of feedback to freelance editors
- ongoing support of freelance editors
- development and maintenance of editorial style and process documentation
- Scheduling and contracting of resources
What We're Looking For:
- Extensive editorial experience
- Experience of Lonely Planet’s structure, editorial style conventions and production processes
- High-level understanding and knowledge of editorial conventions
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, InDesign

- Excellent written and verbal presentation skills

- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritise workload while maintaining strong attention to detail
- Must be customer focused with a flexible and adaptable attitude and a proactive, constructive approach
- Passion for travel
