The Senior Dutch Legal Counsel will serve as the primary legal advisor on Dutch law matters within the company's legal department, with a particular focus on commercial and technology law, Dutch employment law, and Corporate Law. This role will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal advice and support for the company's worldwide business operations in the Netherlands and interface with various business units and stakeholders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Providing legal advice to business units and management
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements
- Provide comprehensive advice on Dutch employment law matters and support HR initiatives
- Ensure legal compliance with Dutch and EU regulations relevant to the operations of the company
- Review and structure complex commercial transactions and customer/vendor relationships
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement legal strategies that support business objectives
- Manage multiple legal projects simultaneously while maintaining high quality standards
- Provide practical, business-oriented legal solutions while effectively managing legal risks
- Interface with external counsel when necessary and manage their engagements
- Support corporate governance matters and regulatory compliance initiatives
- Draft and review internal policies and procedures relevant to Dutch law requirements
Qualiications:
- Native-level Dutch language proficiency and fluent English (written and verbal)
- Minimum 8 years of relevant legal experience, gained at top-tier Dutch commercial law firms and/or in-house at major technology companies (preferably publicly traded)
- Dutch law degree with admission to the Dutch Bar
- Extensive experience in technology and commercial law
- Experience in providing legal advice on employment matters under Dutch employment law
- Excellent project management skills with ability to manage multiple complex matters simultaneously
- Strong business acumen and ability to provide practical, solution-oriented legal advice
- Outstanding interpersonal skills with ability to build strong relationships with business stakeholders
- Outstanding negotiation skills and strong attention to detail
