About the Role:
The Senior Director, US MSL Team is responsible for establishing the vision and strategy for the medical science liaison team, including accountability for execution and attainment of medical objectives in alignment with the Medical Affairs Leadership. They will be responsible for managing a field-based medical team.
The individual will be accountable for the team to engage in high quality communications regarding the science and clinical applications to variety of external stakeholders on a regional/national/international levels, as well as obtain important insights about current practice, treatment landscape, and emerging scientific and clinical data in a fully compliant manner. In addition, the Senior Director, US MSL Team combines exceptional business acumen and clinical expertise and is expected to build strong cross-functional relationships with other colleagues at SpringWorks.
Location Classification – Field-Based:
Officially classified as working as a member of field organization, with the expectation of this role to travel and engage and with external partners, collaborators, and other third parties regularly on behalf of SpringWorks Therapeutics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Translates medical strategic priorities into clear field medical goals, objectives and initiatives with clear KPIs and metrics that demonstrate value within the Medical Affairs therapeutic area
- As a member of the Medical Affairs team, the individual is responsible for developing the external KOL and HCP engagement strategy and integrated launch plan
- Ensures operational excellence of the team and execution of all efforts, initiatives and activities, including development of KOL engagement and geographical management plans
- Cross-functional collaboration within Medical Affairs, US Commercial, Clinical Development, Market Access, Business Development, and other functions for synergistic opportunities
- Maintains clinical, scientific and technical expertise and serves as a resource for the FMT as well as internal and external stakeholders
- Management and development of all team members including hiring, training, mentoring, coaching, performance management, and career development
- May need to lead a territory as business demands require.
- Establish performance metrics, training and development programs, and leverage new technology to increase the ability to identify and segment thought leaders and clinical experts, and improve operational effectiveness in the field
- Leverage data analytics to establish reporting metrics and dashboards
- Continues to refine process for collection, interpretation, and timely communication of meaningful field-gathered intelligence to internal partners.
- Identifies, recommends, and develops projects aimed at enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the field medical team to ensure operational excellence
- Assist with strategy and generation of health economic and outcomes data and presentation of such data to payer audiences
- Effectively manages administrative activities of self and team members: Includes CRM database entry and insight collection and reporting, etc.
- Fosters a working environment of integrity, compliance, and alignment with the SpringWorks corporate values
- Determine headcount capacity and directly accountable for an operating budget and alignment with US medical affairs resource needs
- Develop national key performance indicators for field medical team
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
- Education: Advanced Scientific degree or equivalent experience required; MD, PhD, PharmD, DNP strongly preferred
- 10+ years of experience, in the pharmaceutical industry, with Medical Affairs experience required with a Master’s degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of people leadership experience managing a field medical team
- Oncology and/or Rare disease experience is strongly preferred
- Proficiency with business software including but not limited Veeva CRM or a comparable customer relations management tool, to Adobe Professional, and the Microsoft Office Suite of applications
- Ability to understand, review, and communicate complex technical concepts and technologies
- Working knowledge of the OIG compliance guidance for pharmaceutical manufacturers
- Advanced leadership skills including experience working with cross-functional teams with positive impact outside own organization

- Valid driver’s license required and must be in good standing.
- Position may require domestic travel up to 50% or more of time
Compensation:
The expected salary range for this position is $245,000.00 - $320,000.00. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.
