REPORTS TO: Head of Demand & Supply Planning EMEA 

LOCATION: UK, Leeds Thorpe Park

OVERVIEW: 

The Supply Planning team are responsible for ensuring the inbound supply of product is meeting the demand forecast signal across the short and long term horizon – calling priorities on PO’s from manufacture, ensuring stock is directed to the right DC’s to fulfil customer demand, mitigating any delays in the process and influencing the future supply network to ensure it is aligned to growth plans.  They are also responsible for the stock health and working with NA Supply Planning teams to set the stocking policy, i.e. which SKU’s are stocked in which DC’s and to what target stock levels.  There is a need to provide ongoing storage and throughput forecasts by region and DC to support the physical operations team's growth plans and determining where capacity is required to support the EMEA growth plans.   

As Senior Director of Supply Planning you will interface with Demand Planning, Product Development for NPD, Regional SS&A, Sales and Operations teams, and the Global Supply Planning function to facilitate clear reporting on Stock Health, E&O stock, inbound stock direction and prioritisation.  There is also a requirement to flag exceptions and risks to supply and develop plans to mitigate the impact to our customers.  Feeding into how global processes are developed and new techniques and systems are delivered to meet the overall growth aims of the global business. Your team will also be responsible for providing market and category analysis that demonstrates in 3 different time horizons (0-4 month, 4-12 month and 12-18 month) that the supply plans are in line with business geography and category growth ambitions.  Additionally, the role is also key to providing visibility and management of the Excess and Obsolete stock process, to ensure that the stock brought in and not sold to forecast has a disposal route – but also as well as ensuring that product coming to the end of life is managed out of the business with minimal cost exposure, including assessment of transition planning and raw material exposure.  

This role would suit an ambitious individual with prior experience in a supply/demand planning, who has demonstrated skills as a leader of a key functional area within a Business and the ability to communicate at all Business levels, being able to summarise complex problems into simple solution steps.

  • Lead and develop a team, ensuring that there are clear two-way communications routes, and  individuals are able to fulfil their potential, either by formal training, experiential learning or coaching. 
  • Support a process within the team, whereby data is turned into Business insight, with associated actions 
  • Develop and monitor Key Performance Indicators that show effectiveness of the Supply planning in conjunction with the EMEA Demand planning and global team Supply Planning teams. 
  • Drive continuous Improvement through developing processes and ways of working that support the growth ambitions of the EMEA Region 
  • Support the Operations planning process to ensure that the end-to-end supply chain is scaled to enable the Business target growth 
  • Lead the stock health measures and stock target setting to support the required Business growth and customer service targets 
  • Identify excess inventory risks early and develop and execute mitigations working with Regional Commercial, Sales and Logistics teams, keeping global teams informed 
  • Ensure that there is a process in each Region to provide an Opportunities list of SKU’s where the stock cover would support attritional sales to enable Commercial growth targets to be met 
  • Collaborate and partner with various business stakeholders across the organization to gather relevant data, insight 
  • Champions improvements in the NPD process – to enable greater levels of certainty but hitting timelines for ensuring 5* launches are achieved every time, with the correct level of data input. 

ATTRIBUTES & SKILLS: 

  • Demonstrated functional knowledge and experience in concepts of Supply Chain, S&OP and Inventory Planning 
  • Ability to interact and influence both cross functionally and importantly up to CxO level 
  • The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills to develop the Supply & Demand Planning process, both weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually to ensure that there is sufficient challenge in the process 
  • Be able to lead a team of Supply Planners to ensure targets are balanced and achieved, recognize strengths in the team and developing them 
  • Ability to multi-task and time manage independently; ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic environment  
  • Strong attention to detail, feeling comfortable to challenge at all levels and follow-through ideas and concepts to delivery 
  • Advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint; Domo/Power BI knowledge an advantage 
  • An entrepreneurial spirit and comfort working in a dynamic, fun, fast-paced environment. 
  • A team-oriented and collaborative approach. Proven results building effective long-term relationships at all levels, internally and externally, and go the extra mile for customers.  
  • Ability to communicate for impact, both in writing and verbally. 

Education and Experience: 

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a Supply/Demand Planning/Operational leadership function 
  • Previous experience in consumer goods industry is preferred 
  • Experience of using BI system desirable (Domo/Power BI or similar) 
  • Experience of using demand and supply planning software desirable (Blue Yonder an advantage)
