We are seeking a Senior Director of Data and Science to lead our Data Development team. This pivotal role will involve overseeing the integration of clinical structured and unstructured text data from electronic health records (EHR) and imaging data to support the development of Verana Qdata®. You will play a crucial role in algorithm development, data processing, modeling, and interpretation to drive impactful insights.

• Natural language processing for EHR clinical notes.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Commercial, Product, Medical, Engineering) to define data requirements.
• Mentor team members in machine learning and natural language processing standards.
• Manage people effectively while fostering a culture of continuous learning.

Qualifications:

• Master’s or doctorate in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Data Science, Computer Science).
• 10+ years of experience deploying at-scale large language models (e.g., BERT) for clinical applications.
• 5+ years in a leadership role managing technical teams.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Pyspark, R, SQL.
• Familiarity with platforms like Databricks and Amazon Sagemaker.
• Strong communication skills for presenting complex information to diverse audiences.
