The Senior Director of Brand & Partnership Marketing is a transformative leader who orchestrates Choice Hotels’ marketing team, driving enterprise marketing including consumer promotions and partnership marketing as well as B2B marketing. This strategic visionary propels the power of innovative brand storytelling and data-driven insights to elevate brand perception, accelerate market growth, and shape the future of Choice Hotels’ hospitality marketing. As an integral leader in the Marketing organization, they will partner with and influence individual and segment brand strategy, champion creative excellence and strategic innovation to build lasting brand love, perception and deliver measurable business impact across all channels.
Your Responsibilities
Strategic Brand Marketing Leadership
- Spearheads omnichannel marketing initiatives while synthesizing insights from stakeholders, consumer research, and customer/persona behavior to shape brand evolution.
- Craft and executes integrated brand campaigns that maximize business impact through strategic alignment of creative direction, media investment, and performance metrics, ensuring measurable returns.
- Champions brand consistency and authenticity across touchpoints while adapting messaging frameworks to meet evolving consumer expectations and changing industry needs.
- Steers campaign development from concept to execution, crafting compelling marketing briefs and fostering collaboration between cross-functional teams to deliver breakthrough marketing solutions.
- Partners with Advanced Analytics (AA) to assess brand health and awareness levels on an ongoing basis. Leads and/or assists the team when conducting consumer testing.
- Articulates a clear vision and objective of integrated, omni-channel campaigns and provides on-going strategic direction, ensuring accuracy of content and tonality for Enterprise brand and single brand efforts.
- Works with international teams to establish interaction models for global expansion / localization of content.
- Works collaboratively with and influences brand strategy teams on brand positioning, brand hallmarks, brand marketing and promotions strategies.
Partnership Marketing
- Oversee the partnership marketing for various distribution, loyalty and platform partners from implementation to execution. With superior client management skills, develop and grow and maintain strong relationships with client and external partners.
- Drive results by delivering ongoing creative marketing and recommendations for current partners with a deep understanding of goals and objectives for both the partner and Choice Hotels.
- Work extremely close with our internal Alliances team to understand each partners’ needs and provides strategic guidance to develop frameworks that deliver measurable ROI for all parties.
Enterprise Marketing Strategy, & Implementation
- Directs the Creative Center of Excellence (CCOE), orchestrating multi-channel marketing initiatives across brand portfolios, loyalty programs, partnerships, email campaigns, content strategy, and B2B/global sales through seamless integration of internal teams and agency partnerships.
- Drives cross-functional collaboration between digital commerce, brand, marketing, and business units to secure stakeholder alignment and champion innovative creative strategies that deliver measurable results.
- Analyzes emerging industry trends and consumer behavior patterns to shape strategic recommendations and future-proof marketing initiatives.
B2B & Commercial Growth
- Oversees the comprehensive B2B marketing frameworks for Global Sales and Franchise Development, encompassing sales enablement tools, customer journey optimization, and strategic event activation at Partner/Industry events.
- Partners with Communications to craft compelling thought leadership narratives and external relations strategies that strengthen our position in the marketplace.
- Designs and implements data-driven marketing programs aligned with Global Sales, Franchise Development, and corporate objectives to drive sustainable business growth.
- Manages agency relationships and performance metrics, including vendor selection, KPI development, and measurement frameworks that demonstrate clear ROI and business impact. Manages B2B Marketing Director to establish strategic direction and success criteria.
Budget Accountability
- Develops and maintains departmental budgets as directed and within company policy.
- Develops and implements department operational policies, procedures and guidelines.
Talent
- Hires, retains and continually develops diverse, high-caliber talent who will contribute positively to the organization. Develops a pipeline of talent for all key positions to meet current and future needs.
Your Experience, Skills & Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B. S.) from a four-year college or university, MBA preferred.
- Minimum 15 years strategic Marketing/Advertising experience. Previous experience with hospitality is strongly desired.
- Minimum 5 years experience in Partnerships and partnership marketing.
- Minimum 5 years of experience delivering smart and effective content-led strategies and overseeing content development.
- Minimum 5 years leadership experience, including setting strategic direction and managing experienced direct reports at management levels.
- Proven ability to present to and influence senior management and executives.
- Deep experience in project management, strategic alternatives analysis and business case development.
- Experience in transforming a marketing organization and working in a matrix organization
- Experience driving brand and marketing messages through all forms of media, including traditional and digital platforms.
- Outstanding communication and presentations abilities.
- Strong track record of success in developing data-driven marketing communication strategy and driving execution and business results.
- Broad based business acumen; demonstrated ability to collaborate with business leaders and manage multiple projects across organizational lines.
Your Work Location
As our Senior Director of Brand & Partnership Marketing you will be based in our beautiful, state-of-the-art worldwide corporate headquarters in North Bethesda, MD. Less than 15 miles from Washington, DC, we’re located one block away from the North Bethesda Metro station, with service on the Red Line and the MARC Brunswick line, easy access to I-270, and plenty of free parking provided by Choice Hotels.
Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $185,000 to $200,000 annually. In addition to the annual salary, this role is eligible or an annual bonus based on the terms of Choice's Management Incentive Plan (MIP), as well annual awards of Choice Hotels International common stock through Choice’s Long-Term Incentive Plan (LTI Plan).
The pay range listed is for this position and is what Choice Hotels reasonably expects to pay. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.
