Job Description
The Senior DevOps Expert will play a pivotal role in driving the strategic implementation and management of DevOps practices across our Center of Excellence. This position involves the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of scalable, robust, and secure CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and automated systems. The Senior DevOps Expert will collaborate closely during consulting sessions with development, QA, and operations teams to enhance productivity, reliability, and performance. He will be advocate for best practices(golden paths) and DORA metrics in DevOps methodologies at BD.
Knowledge
DevOps Tooling:
- Comprehensive expertise in tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Ansible, and monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana.
- Cloud Platforms: Advanced knowledge of AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud, including deployment, management, and optimization.
- Scripting and Automation: Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Groovy.
- Version Control Systems: Deep understanding of Git workflows and branching strategies.
- Networking and Security: Solid understanding of network protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and security best practices in a cloud-native environment.
- Agile and DevOps Practices: Thorough understanding of Agile methodologies and DevOps principles, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC), continuous integration, and delivery.
- Containerization and Orchestration: Expertise in deploying and managing containerized applications with orchestration tools.

- Strategic Thinking: Ability to align DevOps practices with organizational objectives.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues.
- Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal skills to work across multidisciplinary teams.
- Leadership: Capability to mentor team members and lead DevOps-related initiatives with project teams eg. DORA metrics reviews, project consulting sessions.
- Adaptability: Readiness to adapt to new tools, technologies, and methodologies.
- Communication: Clear and concise communication to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Working practice: good in stakeholder management and networking, ability to work very structured and self-organized, coordination skills
- Proved track of at least two projects which went live
- Personality: empathic, ability to see the e2e dependencies and big picture, accountable, ready to work in dynamic environment
- Language skills: C1 English, B2 German beneficial but not mandatory
