DESCRIPTION:
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Developer to join our Private Investments Development team, focusing on building internal systems for Private, Strategic and Corporate Systems business units.
Your mandate will entail working within the development team to create, implement and continually improve the applications which help our business succeed. This role is for someone who is passionate about delivering high quality applications and knows how to work supporting a broad set of business use cases using a variety of technologies to deliver front and back-end systems to support our businesses. It is a great opportunity to work with an agile team dedicated to using the latest cloud technologies and frameworks to deliver the next generation of applications to drive the success of our business.
A qualified candidate should be well versed in all aspects of the software development life cycle, have strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills, and have programming and debugging experience in an enterprise environment. The candidate must also have a strong knowledge of software architecture and enterprise design patterns.
The candidate must also possess strong verbal and written communication skills and be able to work well within a team environment. Candidates must be self-directed, confident, and able to perform tasks of moderate to high complexity working both independently and within a larger team, in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, develop, and maintain the firm’s web applications and systems.
- Implement robust front-end and back-end solutions to meet business requirements.
- Ensure the scalability, performance, and security of applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure best practices are followed.
TECHNOLOGY EXPERIENCE:
- Expertise with the following:
- AWS native services including RDS, Lambda, SNS, SQS
- Docker
- Terraform
- Python
- React/Redux or similar front end web development
- Experience with the following is a plus:
- Designing and implementing high quality web-based user interfaces
- Data engineering best practices including data modelling and Airflow
- Working knowledge of C# or other object oriented languages
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS or MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical training and professional work experience
- Extensive experience in full stack development, including front-end and back-end technologies.
- Solid command of software design & architectural patterns
- Must possess excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability in developing relationships with stakeholders, communicating project/program status, and understanding detailed business requirements
- Can-do attitude: willingness to take ownership and drive projects to completion
- Creative problem-solving ability and sound judgment – ability to use own initiative and take responsibility for decisions
- Reliable and collaborative team member
- Self-starter with ability to work independently
- Strong team player with interpersonal skills to interact with all levels
