Roles & Responsibilities
• Assist Team Leader/Design Manager to ensure architectural deliverables are of high quality, coordinated and on time for all deliverables.
• Work with the internal and external team members in the co-ordination, organization, preparation and production of design, tender and other project documents and drawings / deliverables.
• To ensure that the coordinated design meets design expectations, performance and specifications of Design objective and Clients’ design brief and satisfies technical and code compliance matters;
• Maintain regular interfacing with external and internal members of Project Team;
• Lead the preparation of architectural reports and presentations.
• Assist Team Leader/ Design Manager to ensure that the overall project timeline is closely monitored and to ensure timely outputs from the team.
• Making regular assessment of progress in meeting project objectives;
• May assist to chair Client/Consultants’ Meetings and Technical Coordination Meetings and prepare the necessary Minutes of Meetings.
• Assists the Project Associate on developing high quality and innovative designs throughout all stages of design (i.e. from Concept till Detail Design) and ensure coordinated tender documentation submissions to Clients and/or Stakeholders and relevant authorities.
• Guide and direct junior designers/architects and technical team in developing high quality architectural designs and details that complies with Planning and Building Regulations.
• Review and ensure that the technical team’s deliverables are in compliance with Planning and Building Regulations and compliance to the required codes and standards as required by the authorities”
• Directing the Architectural Coordinators and technical team in the co-ordination, organization and preparation of documents and drawings.
• Suggestion of redrafting to “Leading the preparation and delivery of quality schedules and detail specifications as per the required format (e.g. CSI, etc).
• Liaising with various the vendors and to ensure proposed of materials and products are in compliance with the contract requirements and authority codes and standards.
• Reviewing all required design deliverables including authority submission drawings and models, consultants submissions, contractors’ shop drawings and material submissions are in compliance to the contract requirements and authority codes and standards.
• Knowledge of local regulatory submissions and code requirements is required.
• To adhere to the design and documentations processes as required by SJ ISO throughout the project duration.
• In some projects, there is a need to be on site as part of the site supervision team. To ensure that architectural site inspections are well recorded, documented and close-out on a timely manner.
Requirements
• 12+ years relevant experience
• Proficient in written and spoken English.
• Pro-active, Design oriented architect who has in-depth architectural detailing knowledge.
• Good leadership skills and a team player.
• Must have experience in producing high quality concept designs.
• Must have experience in successfully delivering projects in design development, tender and construction stages with strong knowledge of technical coordination and architectural detailing for implementation;
• Candidate should be competent in the use of REVIT in designing and modelling. The competency in AutoCAD, SketchUp and photos would be beneficial
• Candidate should be experience in the use of Microsoft Office software (e.g. Word, Excel, etc.)
• Experience in administering a building contract/s of at least $200M (construction cost) would be an advantage.
