We are seeking a highly skilled senior Database Specialist to join our Specialized Services team supporting the Office of Strategic Infrastructure (OSI) Facilities and Real Estate Division (FRED) IT. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and proficiency in relational database technology and with Oracle.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Provide support for Oracle OEM, SQL server, IBM Db2, and Microsoft Dataverse.
• Coordinate with the Government technical manager on database administration activities.
• Perform authorization, review, and user account management.
• Provide database administration support to include patching, upgrading, provisioning, decommissioning, performance tuning, contingency planning and execution, backups, restores, testing, and cloning.
• Manage data/exchange schemas and assist stakeholders with data extraction, transformation, mapping, and ensuring data from enterprise systems are aligned with data structures in other enterprise systems.
• Ensure backups are performed in accordance with all system security plans.
• Manage backend storage volumes for databases (Oracle, Db2, SQL), manage user permissions, respond to DB alerts/alarms from OEM and Nagios, and respond to data calls.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 12 years experience. May be possible to substitute experience for degree.
• Strong understanding and experience with SQL. Includes writing, optimizing and troubleshooting queries.
• Proficiency with SQL server database systems, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
• Oracle and Oracle OEM expertise; experience in designing, implementing, managing, monitoring, and maintaining relational databases.
• Ability to resolve performance bottlenecks in Oracle databases.
• Knowledge of backup and recovery strategies and tools for Oracle databases.
• Proficiency with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and tools.
• Experience with Linux operating systems for database server environments.
• Familiarity with cloud-based databases.
• Experience with data warehousing concepts.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Proficiency with Microsoft Dataverse

Pay Range:Pay Range $85,150.00 - $153,925.00
