Job Overview:

As a Senior Data Scientist at Metropolis, you will be responsible for analyzing large-scale data to identify trends, forecast demand, and build predictive models. You will work alongside data engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders to translate complex datasets into actionable insights and drive strategic business decisions. You will also mentor junior data scientists and contribute to building the data science culture across the organization. Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect, clean, and preprocess large datasets from various sources to ensure data quality and accuracy.
  • Develop and implement statistical models and machine learning algorithms to solve business problems.
  • Analyze and interpret complex data to provide actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business objectives and translate them into data-driven solutions.
  • Create data models, visualizations, dashboards, and reports to effectively communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, tools, and techniques in data science and machine learning.
  • Optimize and improve existing data processes and models to enhance performance and efficiency.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to integrate data-driven solutions into production systems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in data analysis, statistical modeling, and machine learning.
  • Proficiency in Python programming language and SQL.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing A/B tests and causal inference analysis to measure the impact of business strategies at scale.
  • Strong knowledge of machine learning frameworks.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Prior experience in DBT is an added advantage.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to a diverse audience.
  • Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and data engineering practices is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Experience in working with structured as well as unstructured data and data pipelines.
