The E2E Service Journeys crew is responsible for the Disputes Journey, the Deceased Estates and Authorities Journeys. We are dedicated to providing the best service in the moments that matter. The Disputes value stream works together with many other teams including Fraud, Operations, frontline, Digital and Data & analytics to ensure a world class experience for customer who have experienced unauthorised (fraud) transactions or authorised transactions with a negative outcome (e.g. goods/services were not received or not as described). The disputes value stream has also been the first area in the bank to build and implement a GenAI solution to support customers in lodging a dispute.

The Opportunity:

We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to drive the design, development, monitoring, implementation and management of Generative AI solutions to support the E2E and Self-Service Disputes Journeys team. This will focus on the design and build of an orchestration system and Generative AI capability to provide a self-serve, streamlined capability for customers at a transaction level across the personal banking ecosystem.

  • Constantly thinking outside the box and breaking boundaries to solve complex data science problems.

Technical Skills:

We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team;

  • Generative AI: Demonstrated hands-on experience with various aspects of Generative AI, including prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), guardrail design, orchestration design, Agentic AI design.

  • Machine Learning: Expertise in the design and construction of machine learning models, including feature engineering, model selection, hyperparameter tuning, model evaluation, and deployment of predictive models into production environments.

  • Tooling: Hands-on experience with data science tools such as Command Line Tools/Interfaces, Spark, Python, R, TensorFlow, PyTorch, SQL and GenAI tools such as LangChain and LangGraph.

  • Cloud Architecture: Grounded understanding in AWS or Azure Cloud architecture and integration, demonstrating experience in deploying and managing cloud-based solutions.

  • Version Control, CI/CD and Deployment: Experience version control and CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub. Familiar with Docker for containerization and deployment of applications.

Collaboration and Coordination:

  • Collaborate with the key business areas, across Product, Channel, Technology, Operations and Data Science areas to deliver Data Science solutions focussed on achieving the banks customer and commercial outcomes

  • Proven experience in working within and across large, high-performing multi-disciplinary team.

  • Ability to coordinate effectively across the Data Science community to unify efforts and drive collaborative outcomes.

  • Demonstrated capability in driving outcomes that are reusable and can be leveraged across the group.

  • Proficiency in risk management strategies to identify, mitigate, and manage data and model related risks.
