Objectives/Purpose:
- Design and maintain a robust data catalog utilizing Informatica capabilities, organizing data assets for easy discovery, understanding, and accessibility by data users across the organization.
- Develop and implement data governance processes and policies using Informatica tools (CDCG, CDMP) and associated tools (e.g., Immuta/SailPoint) to ensure the proper access to data assets.
- Extract, integrate, and manage metadata from various data sources to enrich the data catalog and provide meaningful insights to data consumers.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users, resolving issues related to data management processes.
Accountabilities:
- Design, development, and maintenance of Metadata/Catalog based applications including implementing various data access workflows and integration with Immuta and SailPoint.
- Participate in team to design and develop Metadata/Catalog applications
- Coordinate development and testing activities with peers locally and offshore
- Providing project implementation support
- Providing detailed technical documentation where deemed necessary
- Manage the technology lifecycle (features/roadmap for Data Catalog and Governance and the wider Informatica stack)
- Run PoC/PoV to test new/innovative features (e.g., GenAI for data understanding, 1-click data ingestion)
- Be flexible in terms of taking on tasks at short notice due to the nature of this team's responsibilities
- Support Head of Data Quality and Catalog
- Form an effective partnership with the internal EDS teams, EDS customers, and EAs as most deliverables involve many parties
- Be on the daily stand-up and deliver our promises transparently
Education, Behavioral Competencies, and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Proven experience in Informatica Cloud Data Governance and Catalog development, with at least 5 years of relevant work experience
- In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in working with Informatica Cloud Data Governance and Catalog tools, including data profiling, metadata management, data quality, and data security features
- Ability to implement workflows and APIs in Informatica CDGC
- Familiarity with data governance concepts, practices, and frameworks. Experience in implementing data governance processes and policies is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of data cataloging principles, data classification, and metadata management. Prior experience in building and managing data catalogs is preferred
- Proficiency in data integration and data management technologies, including ETL/ELT processes, data warehousing, and data modeling
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively
- Experience with JIRA and Version One for task and bug tracking
- Experience with Power BI
- Functionally proficient in performing business process analysis, gathering and analyzing requirements, creating design specifications, unit test plans, and system test plans, testing, development, and production support
- Technically proficient in module development and upgrades based on organizational needs
- Proven ability to support major technology initiatives and tasks of the unit including coordination of working teams and maintenance of close and constructive working relationships with management and staff in defining and resolving technology issues
- Informatica Cloud certifications, such as Informatica Cloud Administrator or Developer, will be a plus
