We’re looking for a Senior Data Engineer to enhance our data infrastructure, optimize performance, and support the analytics needs of our growing platform. In this role, you'll work closely with cross-functional teams to transform raw data into actionable insights, ensuring the success of our healthcare solutions.

What You’ll Do:
Toolchain Procurement:
- Identify the best-in-class Data Pipelining tools, and apply the right ones for Chorus’ problems and use cases
- Identify the right tools for data visualization, and create a data marketplace for internal stakeholders
Data Infrastructure Development:
- Build and maintain scalable data pipelines and workflows to support platform operations and analytics.
- Design and optimize ETL/ELT processes for structured and unstructured data.
Collaboration and Integration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Application Delivery, Product, Engineering, Program to ensure data solutions align with business needs.
- Work on integrating third-party APIs and systems into the data ecosystem (e.g., EHRs, Redox).
- Work closely and educate engineering and SD team to create best-practice data models
Data Quality & Governance:
- Ensure the accuracy, reliability, and accessibility of data across systems.
- Implement data validation and monitoring tools to improve data quality and performance.
Performance Optimization:
- Identify performance bottlenecks in queries and pipelines and propose optimization solutions.
- Support efforts to scale data warehousing and improve processing times for data exports.
Contribute to Scalability:
- Assist in evolving our data infrastructure to meet the growing demands of healthcare solutions that handle sensitive patient data.
Who You Are:
- 3-5 years of professional experience as a Data Engineer working with large-scale data systems and pipelines.
Core Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Python and SQL for data engineering tasks.
- Experience with cloud-based data warehousing tools (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Databricks).
- Familiarity with modern ETL tools and frameworks (e.g., Apache Airflow, Airbyte, DBT, Fivetran, Hevo, AWS Glue).
Data-Modelling Skills:
- Proficient at designing OLAP-oriented data models
- Proficient at creating normalized and future-resistant 3NF data models
Problem-Solving Prowess:
- Ability to debug complex data workflows and get unstuck quickly.
- Experience solving performance issues with SQL queries and pipelines.
Attention to Detail:
- High standards for data integrity and governance, especially in sensitive domains like healthcare.
Growth Mindset:
- Eagerness to learn and become a subject matter expert in specific areas of the platform.
- Willingness to propose platform changes that improve performance, reliability, or scalability.

Compensation Disclosure
The anticipated base salary for this position is $180,000 to $190,000 based on the Los Angeles market. The base salary offered may vary depending on several factors, including the applicant's qualifications, relevant experience, specific skills, level of education, certifications, and the geographic location where the role will be performed.
Please note that the listed compensation details apply to the base salary only and do not include additional elements of the total compensation package, such as performance bonuses, stock options, or benefits. The final compensation package will be determined by evaluating the candidate’s qualifications in relation to market standards and internal pay equity.
